Because not even once did I feel any pain.
This line can be interpreted several ways. I don't speak Japanese, so I don't know what the original says, but shouldn't this line be more like "Because not even once have I ever felt any pain" ? "Because not even once did I feel any pain." can possibly only refer to the present situation, in that Fujino is saying that she didn't feel any pain when she cut herself, but she does usually feel pain.
