I am a Japanese born half-Japanese half-Australian.

I can speak Japanese quite well, but I am terrible when it comes to reading and writing because I never took any Japanese reading or writing classes (having moved to Australia when I was three)

So in Junior school I started practising by myself, and I can read and write hiragana and katakana, but unfortunately Kanji is my pianissimo (as opposed to forte).

I absolutely revered the Clannad anime, and so I downloaded the visual novel and began reading it with a downloadable Japanese Kanji dictionary, copying and pasting the kanji from the 'SEEN' files and finding out their meanings (as long as I know how to read them I can usually understand them.)

I am new to this whole translating thing and don't understand a lot of the fancy mumbo jumbo, so if I make any mistakes pick me up on it before it becomes a bad habit.

Also, I am Osaka-umari, and trying to stay true to my heritage, I use Osaka-ben when speaking Japanese. I will try not to let that show through to my translating.

If you ever want me to translate a Japanese sentence literally, feel free to ask. I love the absurd-sounding sentences which occur because the grammatical structure is so different from English.
