Afterword

Hello, this is Iwai Kyouhei.

Containing the short stories serialized in "The Sneaker" plus a new story, I was able to deliver the third volume of "Mushi Uta Bug" to you.

Passing through two years of publication, even getting a special issue in the summer, as well as goods being sold, I am extremely happy with my situation in life right now. I believe this is all wholly due to you, the readers.

I am immensely grateful.

Now for a few comments on this work while avoiding spoilers.

About "The Flower Garden Aiming for Dreams".

This is the meeting of Ichinokuro Arisu and Harukiyo. I thought a lot about the timing to bring them together, and it ended up in the third volume.

Speaking of the character Harukiyo, those who have read the main series Mushi Uta should know him. His first appearance in Bug was in the new story last volume.

He would probably end up meddling again and again in the relationship between the protagonist Arisu and Mari.

About "The Dream Welcoming Feelings".

This is a story about an annoying guest character.

Everyone probably worries about how people such as friends and close associates perceive them.

In this story the reasons are being a Mushitsuki, being annoying and so on, but once you start thinking about this it will never end. I believe there are people who can't approach someone because they're scared of being rejected.

Even so I think it's important to show that you think favorably of the other party. If there's a person you support, this will be the chance of a lifetime.

About "The Journey Lost in Dreams".

This is the story from the magazine's special feature.

All sorts of new characters appeared. They should connect to the important turning point from now on. It also set up an important piece to the world of Mushi Uta.

This story will also probably serve as a small key to the mystery of the existence known as Mushi.

About "The Doll Playing the Melody of Dreams".

This is a new story.

Just like in the volumes until now, this is a tale from a viewpoint other than that of the protagonist Arisu. This is the girl with an ambiguous position in the story—whether she helps Arisu or just stands in her way.

Thinking back, I've clearly depicted the moment someone became a Mushitsuki only for a few characters. Thinking that way, is she an important character?

This is a story of how even this violent girl had a period where she was smart.

Being able to continue the publication was genuinely due to the care of the supervisor Yamaguchi-sama. Or perhaps I should use the alias Kumirin-san so it would be easier to understand for The Sneaker's subscribers. Please continue guiding me.

Llo-sama who keeps on drawing the lovely illustrations every time. In addition to this work, there were also the cover of the special edition and appendix and so on, so I have truly been in your care. Thank you very much.

And you the readers who are holding this book, allow me to thank you again.

Including fan letters, the postcards you attached to your letters to the editors, each and every one of your words of encouragement makes me happy.

I'm also writing the main work Mushi Uta as well as the other series "Shoukan no Chousensha" side-by-side while receiving your impressions, and they give me even more power to do my best.

I would like to keep giving it my all so that you will look forward to it.

Let us meet again in the next stage.
