Postscript to Volume 11

I am Tsukiji. Here is the latest volume of Kempfer. This is the penultimate volume in the series. Although the counting method is a bit strange, it's easier to understand since there are volumes like 10.5.

The anime also aired smoothly. Since I only went to the recording once, some rumors have spread, but I heard the atmosphere was quite harmonious. I would like to thank everyone involved.

[Animals with exposed entrails running around.] An anime like this is unprecedented, but the reviews seem good, so I can rest assured for now. Then, I didn't expect the ending to be like that.

It's not that the novel was also affected, but the next volume is the final one. How will it end? In the anime, Natsuru, Akane, President Shizuku, Mikoto, and Sakura all went their separate ways, just like the characters in the novel. They experienced a lot of life experiences for high school students, while also having to make decisions about their feelings and current situations. The white Kempfers are probably the same, except that they, who play the role of enemies, also have their own lives. The viscera animals wouldn't quite understand. Because they're just a mass of chemical fibers. They might even surprisingly hold the optimistic thought, "It's good enough that I wasn't thrown away." Oh, and the class representative of Class 4, second year of the girls' division and Higashida and the others from the boys' division too.

That's about it. The final volume should be released next March.

   November 2009,

    Tsukiji Toshihiko
