To re-iterate the registration procedure:

  • "First Come, First Served": please register your intended chapters here
  • The maximum number of chapters you are recommended to work on is no more then half of any given volume
  • Maximum number of Translators per volume is two
  • Maximum number of volumes you may be active on is one
  • This is not some Binding Contract of "I must do the work I put down here". Choices put down here are negotiable between translators (including their own selves who signed up for it).

Comments

Thus far, the only concrete 'stake' would be:

Kinny Riddle: Vol 1 Ch 5~7

--Psieye 17:00, 23 April 2006 (PDT) (we need more translators putting something down here, even if they change it later)

I am currently looking into the conflicting issue and am trying to get a consensus. Please refrain from making any claim for volume 1 chapter 5 for now.

--Thelastguardian 17:14, 23 April 2006 (PDT)

I renounce any claim to volume 1 chapter 5, and ask to be moved to the Editors group. --Freak Of Nature 18:09, 23 April 2006 (PDT)

It has been agreed that Kinny will finish the rest of the volume 01, but beyond that, all other translators are encourage to register, including Kinny. While Kinny feels he can translate a whole volume by himself, unfortunately not everyone can match his speed, and for some people attempting to translate a whole volume is far too much work. And as everyone knows, when it become an effort, it cease to be fun. plus everyone hates work. ^^

So since we have an uncomfortable Empty Page, I will fill it in, for you blokes. yes. no need to thank me. :p

FoN has expressed a willingness to translate later Chapter of Volume 02.

so lets put that on.

I have no problem with FoN doing chapters 4 and 5 of volume 2, the SF jargon and loads of Hollywood movie references in volume 2 is simply overwhelming. So volume 1 would be the only volume that I'm "hogging" onto myself.

As for volume 3, I think due to its stand-alone short stories format, perhaps one can allow one translator per short story? There are four short-stories in total, plus prologue and epilogue. I think I'm interested in doing one of them, though I just got around to reading volume 3 now. (Goes back to reading.)

Kinny Riddle 0:24, 28 April 2006 (HKT)

Really? Well i don't really see any problems if that's the case.

But as there is only two active translators at the moment, i think that point is moot. (^^;)

Fine with me... I'm a film { addict / fanatic / connoisseur / whatever }, by the way. In fact, that's what got me started on learning Japanese, many years ago -- I wanted to be able to watch Japanese films undubbed. So any film references that crop up, I can probably work out.

Presently working on Vol. 2 Ch. 4.
