Random Basketball Lines[edit]
Layup, Fast Break, Pass, Swish, Offense, Slam Dunk, Alley-oop, Double-handed shot, 45 degree angle position ...
- Layup - Underhanded one hand shot you would execute by the basket while running towards it.
- Fast Break - A transition phase when the defense gets the rebound and quickly runs the other way to score before the other team is ready.
- Pass - Transitioning the ball from one player to another. The pass prior to a shot is called an assist.
- Swish - The basketball passing through the hoop without making contact with the rim.
- Offense - Possession of the ball and aiming to score through a planned (or not planned) play.
- Slam Dunk - A one or two handed input of the basketball directly into the hoop.
- Alley-oop - A pass that usually arcs and should be considered goal tending but is instead registered as a pass available for someone at great height to receive the pass to input a shot before landing on the ground. Most likely a lob into a slam dunk.
- Double-handed shot - Conventional shooting, usually done at some range away from the basket.
- 45 degree angle position - An angle away from the basket at a good position to shoot, since the distance is not too far. If you've read Slam Dunk, Hanamichi Sakuragi uses this angle on some of his worked shots. (I'm pretty sure it's something like that.)
Okay I'll get back to this after this seen is finished with translation since there isn't much point stating something that doesn't appear here.
