Um, Kenpō (拳法?) is indeed the name of several Japanese martial arts, but in Japanese using "kenpou" by itself also less specifically refers to Chinese martial arts as a whole (i.e. 拳法＝中国拳法＝中国武術の全て), the same way English uses the term 'kung fu' to mean roughly 'all Chinese martial arts'.

So I was wondering if it should really mean 'kung-fu' in this context, instead of specifically kenpou in the Japanese sense, like 少林寺拳法 or 日本拳法　etc.:

"It was what could only be a stance of kung fu, but since Ayato did not recognize the form, and was unfamiliar with Chinese martial arts, he wasn't able to anticipate the schools particular style."

I'm a bit reluctant to post this, because my Japanese is quite bad and it might seem quite rude to you. On the other hand, I have quite the interest in martial arts so I thought I'd confirm with you. Vanant (talk) 07:36, 14 May 2014 (CDT)
