==Tsukumodo TL help + translate extension== hi, it's me again. couldn't find you on your irc, so gonna ask here. can you pls clarify a few lines in tsukumodo vol 1 ch 4? "Mm? Well, if you only open it, sure." (meaning? that she opens it and does nothing else? is this his joke?) : While she asks in the traditional sense, he only means to say that she "may take a look" because he doesn't actually want to give it to her / wants it back later. It'll be time for work in no time if I just hang around in my crumbly 9 square feet apartment. (is he deliberately understating the number of feet?) : Whoops. Pretty bad mistake on my part. It's supposed to be 80 square feet, or 4 1/2 tatami mats if you want to keep the Japanese counter-part. And are you by any chance planning on using the TL extension on tsukumodo? --idiffer 14:39, 17 April 2014 (CDT) : Nah, at the moment I have no plans of using the extension. As far as I know, it's not ready for production use anyway. EusthEnoptEron (talk) 17:50, 17 April 2014 (CDT) :Thanks.--idiffer 18:11, 17 April 2014 (CDT) tsukumodo vol 1 ch 3: I wasn't going to remember that face forever. (are you sure it's not the opposite? was going to?)--idiffer 07:26, 25 April 2014 (CDT) : Good catch. I probably tried to phrase it by using "forget" first, but then changed my mind and got things mixed up. Anyway, the correct translation is something along the lines of "Never would I forget the face that he'd shown me then." EusthEnoptEron (talk) 10:37, 25 April 2014 (CDT) same chapter: But there are people who have to rely on such a superstition (can't talk about others). (the thing in the parenthesis - what is it? a reminder for herself? cause she already talked about others...) : He is just noting (in an ironic tone) that he resorted to that superstition himself. If you do, one of my important part-timers might come to a bad end." (like in a visual novel?) : It works, but it's not an explicit reference to a bad end. A more accurate translation would be that she'd lose one of her part-timers, or that one of them would die. I prepared chicken sauteed with a potato salad, (so the chicken is cooked together with the salad in the same frying pan?) : Dammit, mixed French with English. Should be "chicken sautΓ©e" or "sauteed chicken", and in addition to that dish a potato salad. "Note?" (doeas this line belong to towako or saki?) : From the context, I assume it belongs to Saki. btw, is it alright to use your talk page like this or do u want to move this somewhere else? i'm sure i'll have more questions as i translate. on a side note, good thing it benefits you too - the error catching thing... and are you going to TL vol 3 ch 1? the other translator hasn't been active in a long time + i've read he uses machine translations.--idiffer 15:50, 25 April 2014 (CDT) : Actually, I don't mind either way. But perhaps, putting your comments on the talk page of the chapter would be easier. Regarding the first chapter: Last I heard of him (January, 2014) he still wanted to finish the translation. For now, I started with the first chapter of V4 -- I'll look into the matter after that. At any rate, I'll make sure to give his translation a thorough TLC pass to make sure it's correct. EusthEnoptEron (talk) 16:26, 25 April 2014 (CDT) threw in another couple of questions in tsukumodo vol 2 chapter 2.--idiffer 13:02, 1 August 2014 (CDT) ---- Posted a few questions about Talk:Tsukumodo:Volume 2 Silence. No problem re: volume 4; I'm excited that we're slowly getting to the main story line. v5c1 will finally present the antagonists. I didn't have anyone edit the translations for v4 yet, although I do plan to do so myself should I ever find the time. I'm glad if it already reads well, though. :D EusthEnoptEron (talk) 13:29, 18 September 2014 (CDT) ---- Sorry to bother you again so soon, but I ended up being the TLC for the russian translation of "Tabi ni deyou" (which is inevitably done from your translation), so if you could answer these 6 questions when you have the time, that would be awesome. About tsukumodo vol 4 - I'll try to find the time to correct the small mistakes I did notice. --idiffer 11:48, 21 September 2014 (CDT) ---- Posted some Tsukumodo questions here. I don't know if it's useful, really. The reasons I removed it: :# it blows up the layout (admittedly not badly) :# the titles looked like "1.1 1", "1.1 2" (could be fixed, thought) :# I haven't seen anything like this on any other BT project. :On the other hand, it might not be a bad thing and reflects the content of the chapter. Freshness and accessibility. So I don't mind either way. ;) :EusthEnoptEron 22:33, 22 December 2009 (UTC) Ah, but I have seen it in some projects (like here and here and I believe also somewhere else if the chapters were divided in subsections (so I thought its custom ;)) (I think for some its for a easier navigation in the chapter or to differentiate the pages - who knows for sure) Also I dont know if much could be done to change the titles of the subsections (but also one can hide the content) --Darklor 23:59, 22 December 2009 (UTC) :You got me. EusthEnoptEron 11:26, 23 December 2009 (UTC) Thanks for your work on Utsuro no Hako. I'm enjoying it. Want to second that emotion! Thanks so much EEE! What? Who? When did you translate this and why haven't I noticed it from the beginning? This is an excellent series and you translated an entire volume a month...that's ungodly. I just wanted to write here to say how awesome it's been reading this series (just finished the first book--I hated the way the author had me with the 'owner' mystery because of his cheap shot) and that I seriously congratulate you on your translations. Sure, they aren't perfect, but you clearly tell this wonderful story, and I'm definitely glad I read it. I truly hope you continue translating ^^. Totally not trying to butter you up into translating more, ~Blaster :Thanks for the positive messages Blaster and anon IPs. :D I'm really glad you guys enjoyed the story as much as I did, which is what drove me to translate the whole thing. Though, I'm still not sure just how readable I can translate an already quite complicated book like this. But for now, I think I'll keep translating at least until volume 4 (since volume 3 is my favorite one and hell of a cliff-hanger). EusthEnoptEron 17:53, 25 March 2010 (UTC) Hey, is there any way to contact you (skype/msn/whatever)? --LoSs 09:18, 13 April 2010 (UTC) :Email (Romanize without spaces): ζ΅·γγγγ£γ¦ζ₯γ[_at_]yahoo.co.jp EusthEnoptEron 13:14, 13 April 2010 (UTC) Also for registered users is down in the toolbox an option to email another user if the other user has allowed that ;) also there are PM's possible at the forum (for registerd users) --Darklor 13:27, 13 April 2010 (UTC) Great job. This novel is very good and I'm really happy that you're translating it. Keep up the good work. The reason why I signed up to edit was mainly because of your awesome work with Utsuro no Hako, since I wanted to help out by doing whatever I could. Looking forward to working on more in the future! --Enthormw 20:53, 19 April 2010 (UTC) :Thanks a bunch for the great edits! The awkward English I use is always my biggest worry, so I'm glad someone improves the flow and gets rid of some spelling mistakes for me. ;) EusthEnoptEron 21:04, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
