hi, it's me again. couldn't find you on your irc, so gonna ask here. can you pls clarify a few lines in tsukumodo vol 1 ch 4?

(meaning? that she opens it and does nothing else? is this his joke?)
: While she asks in the traditional sense, he only means to say that she "may take a look" because he doesn't actually want to give it to her / wants it back later.

(is he deliberately understating the number of feet?)
: Whoops. Pretty bad mistake on my part. It's supposed to be 80 square feet, or 4 1/2 tatami mats if you want to keep the Japanese counter-part.
And are you by any chance planning on using the TL extension on tsukumodo?

: Good catch. I probably tried to phrase it by using "forget" first, but then changed my mind and got things mixed up. Anyway, the correct translation is something along the lines of "Never would I forget the face that he'd shown me then." : It works, but it's not an explicit reference to a bad end. A more accurate translation would be that she'd lose one of her part-timers, or that one of them would die.

: Dammit, mixed French with English. Should be "chicken sautée" or "sauteed chicken", and in addition to that dish a potato salad.

: Actually, I don't mind either way. But perhaps, putting your comments on the talk page of the chapter would be easier. Regarding the first chapter: Last I heard of him (January, 2014) he still wanted to finish the translation. For now, I started with the first chapter of V4 -- I'll look into the matter after that. At any rate, I'll make sure to give his translation a thorough TLC pass to make sure it's correct. Ah, but I have seen it in some projects (like [[To_Aru_Majutsu_no_Index:Volume12_Chapter1|here]] and [[Maria-sama_ga_Miteru:Volume1_Chapter1|here]] and I believe also somewhere else if the chapters were divided in subsections (so I thought its custom ;)) (I think for some its for a easier navigation in the chapter or to differentiate the pages - who knows for sure) Also I dont know if much could be done to change the titles of the subsections (but also one can hide the content) --[[User:Darklor|Darklor]] 23:59, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

What? Who? When did you translate this and why haven't I noticed it from the beginning? This is an excellent series and you translated an entire volume a month...that's ungodly. I just wanted to write here to say how awesome it's been reading this series (just finished the first book--I hated the way the author had me with the 'owner' mystery because of his cheap shot) and that I seriously congratulate you on your translations. Sure, they aren't perfect, but you clearly tell this wonderful story, and I'm definitely glad I read it. I truly hope you continue translating ^^.

Though, I'm still not sure just how readable I can translate an already quite complicated book like this.
