== Similar to Prince Revolution? == I've read two chapters of SAO and up to chapter 4 of PR's Vol3 and so far the settings are really similar, although they're different in terms of characters and amount of comedy and other things. It may be very similar, but you can't say that this setting is very unique in terms of anime and manga, I mean, look at .Hack. I think that this is the similarity is only a result of the similar settings. _______________________________________ Prince Revolution is the name of the site/group that translates the novel "1/2 Prince" by Yu Wo. Not the novel itself. There may be some similiarities to 1/2 Prince, the .Hack//-series or Yureka, but that is because all of them are about virtual reality MMOs. If you look at them from another point of view, you might see the differences in the plot. SAO is about being trapped in the game, with virtual death killing your real body and the struggle to escape this. This is not the case in 1/2 Prince, where the big problem lies in -*************SPOILER ALERT START************ (Is it possible to put the following lines in a spoiler-tab? I have no idea how to do it) NPCs getting self-concious and revolting against human players in the game world. Yureka also have a few "virtual death = real death" parts, but the main story is about the main character finding the hacking program called Yureka who is somewhere in the game world. I haven't read .Hack//, so sadly, I can't say anything about that. -*************SPOILER ALERT END************* So, think of this before you imply that a novel is a copy of another one. Sure, it may have been an inspiration to SAO (Actually, that depends on which of them were written first), but unless the plot is the exact same thing, they are looked at as two different novels. An example of this is Lion King. It is inspired by Hamlet, but would you sue Disney for trying to copy Shakespeare? ____________________________________ :As a note, SAO web version is written at 2001 and posted online at 2002. And for 1/2 Prince, it is published by 2004. Well, there are some vague claims that 1/2 prince is come from this way that the first three volumes are edited from a doujin creation written by some others that are in a same club as the author when she is still studying in University, and then ongoing volumes are written by contracting some others or summarizing fans idea. Unless you believe 1/2 prince's author really does put other's work into her own novel, then it would be pretty impossible for SAO to copy from it unless SAO's author have a time machine.[[User:746939454|746939454]] ([[User talk:746939454|talk]]) 14:45, 8 July 2014 (CDT)
