== Name Pronunciation == Can you guys add a page for character name's pronunciation ? It's hard to talk to others while each got his/her own way of speaking names :P P.S: by the way, please make a wider range of question for page-editing. There's always 1 question whenever I look at it. -Anon :Well there is the: Sword Art Online:Names and Terminology Guideline. I suppose we could add ogg files for pronunciation like wikipedia does. I'll work on it. Zero2001 - Talk - 13:50, 18 June 2012 (CDT) ::You can do it the IPA way, like this: London /ˈlʌndən/ -Anon :::That won't be completely accurate. English and Japanese have different ways to pronouncing certain sounds like T, D, etc. Furthermore, few people know the phonetic alphabet in it's entirety and certainly not those with English as second alphabet. Better to sound it out for them. Zero2001 - Talk - 08:03, 19 June 2012 (CDT) :::So anyone who is great at speaking japanese and a good voice, please volunteer to be the pronouncer. Zero2001 - Talk - 08:07, 19 June 2012 (CDT) Most names should be straightforward in pronunciation, I assume the names with issues are Lyfa and Sinon? In that case: * Lyfa - Ree-fa in JP version, but English changed R to L so Lee-fa is acceptable, just not Lai-fa. * Sinon - Shi-non, just like her real name Shino. * Eugeo - Yoo-gee-o. -- BeginnerXP - Talk 01:38, 20 June 2012 (CDT) :Alternately, for whatever name you have no idea how to pronounce, go to the terminology page, copy the jp name you see, put it into google, then ask it to sound it out for you(somewhere at the bottom right corner). That's the least complicated way, since JP pronunciation is quite simple/fixed. --Pryun - Talk 05:13, 20 June 2012 (CDT) ::Yu-Gi-Oh!! Was what I first thought of.--Mufarasu === Argas or Agas? === I'm rereading Volume 1 (while proofreading) and it seems that the spelling keeps switching back and forth. For the sake of consistency, is there an agreed upon spelling? --Aozf05 00:48, 27 June 2012 (CDT) :Good question. Take it to the forums for proofers to check(you can post even if you don't have an account there, I think). --Pryun - Talk 06:24, 27 June 2012 (CDT) ===Cline or Klein=== So is it Cline or Klein? Because someone will need to go around changing it in all of the novels, or a group of people. :When ou see «Sterben» in the GGO arc, you tend to think german's name were an inspiration. So I'd opt for Klein (little/small). Jul the happy reader. PS go job to all the translators. ::Greetings.Finally am able to watch it as well.Regarding name change, can I volunteer to do the name change when it's decided?Although I can't do all in one go.-/-User753-Talk- 02:24, 8 July 2012 (CDT) :::I can make the change in one go. I also volunteer myself for this. Zero2001 - Talk - 04:36, 8 July 2012 (CDT) Vaelis actually gave green light to change all the names to ME2 version a while back in forums, I also did change all the names in the works translated by me. So please feel free to change the names in the rests of the volumes/SS. -- BeginnerXP - Talk 04:43, 8 July 2012 (CDT) :Oh good, it is solved, because I had gone back through and noticed it had switched back and forth. Draeke - Talk - 22:03, 8 July 2012 (CDT) ::Hmm though ME2 is official, can't help but feel some dissonance whenever I see "Klein", something like "Who's Klein?" haha. --EverDistantUtopia 08:31, 24 July 2012 (CDT) === Liz or Lis ? === Since "Lizbeth" was changed to "Lisbeth", shouldn't "Liz" (as Asuna always call her) also change to "Lis" ?123.16.110.69 07:50, 3 August 2012 (CDT) :Sounds the same to me... real life names like Elisa/Elisabeth are also shortened to Liz. --Pryun - Talk 07:56, 3 August 2012 (CDT) ::I haven't even heard of that before @@ English sure is strange to me... -- 113.190.225.179 09:30, 3 August 2012 (CDT) :::Pyrun is correct. Real life names like Elisa/Elisabeth that have an "s" in the middle are indeed shortened to nicknames like Liz, with a "z" replacing the "s". So it's fine. Zero2001 - Talk - 01:25, 6 August 2012 (CDT) === Changing Lyfa references to Leafa? === With the release of Episode 17, does anyone with as much OCD as myself feel the need to update Lyfa's name to "Leafa?" As much as the "Chaged to Immortal Object" almost caused me to break my nose while my face met desk, I'll trust Aniplex enough to at least get everybody's name spelled correctly. :Thank you for pointing out with that screenshot, so her in-game name really comes from her real name, after all (a kanji in Suguha means Leaf). -- BeginnerXP (Talk) 01:02, 28 October 2012 (CDT)
