'''''Hyôka''''' (氷菓, littéralement « dessert glacé ») est le premier tome de la série de light novels '''''Koten-bu''''' (古典部, « Club de Littérature Classique ») écrite par Honobu Yonezawa (米澤 穂信) et publiée chez Kadokawa Shoten. 

L'appellation ''Hyôka'' pour désigner l'ensemble de la série a été popularisée par le studio Kyoto Animation qui a réalisé une adaptation animée de 22 épisodes, couvrant le contenu des quatre premiers tomes, sous ce nom. Cette dernière a été diffusée entre avril et septembre 2012. Un épisode supplémentaire a quant à lui été distribué en janvier 2013 sous forme d'une OVA.

== Synopsis ==

Cette histoire est centrée autour d’un étudiant atypique, Hôtarô Oreki. Venant à peine de rentrer au lycée, il ne compte absolument pas altérer les habitudes qu’il s’est défini : toujours en faire le moins possible, ne jamais se faire remarquer et rester dans la moyenne, peu importe ses facultés intellectuelles. « Économie d’énergie » est le principe qui régit son quotidien. Enfin, c’est ce qu’il aurait dû en être s’il n’avait pas reçu une lettre de sa grande sœur Tomoka lui demandant de rejoindre le Club de Littérature classique de son lycée qui, faute de membres, est sur le point de disparaître. Presque à contrecœur, Hôtarô accepte la requête de sa sœur et remplit son formulaire d’inscription.

Plus tard, Hôtarô rencontre Eru Chitanda, une jeune fille énergique qui a, elle aussi, pour projet de rejoindre le Club de Littérature classique. L’insatiable curiosité de celle-ci ne tardera alors pas à dévoiler et user des talents dont fait preuve Hôtarô pour résoudre des énigmes. Accompagnés de leurs amis Satoshi Fukube et Mayaka Ibara, nos deux héros enquêteront sur des histoires de toute sorte, mais aussi et notamment sur un mystère datant d’il y a plusieurs décennies, concernant une anthologie de leur club, ''Hyôka''…

Ainsi, Hôtarô découvrira que le Club de Littérature classique, comme Tomoka le lui avait promis, est n’est pas des plus ennuyeux.
