Permission, Hakomari, Illustration - Indonesia
Hello, I'm the Indonesian Translator of Hakomari. I have just finished it since I love the story, and also because of your great works of translating them to English, thank you. And I've read your translation of Tabi ni Deyou, I'm kinda interested to translate it to Indonesian, since it your works, can I get the permission to do that?

And also, I really just want to gave up on cleaning the illustration of Hakomari... Well, maybe I could do it, but it may not be as good as it should. So, may I get the clean version of the Hakomari Illustration?

Last, I'm sorry for my bad English, maybe I could understand, but I still couldn't express them well, hehe. Oh, and also my bad html coding (if there is any).

Thank you

On Tsukumodo Volume 2 - Self
I'm wondering, in Kishitani's memory sharing session, you gave a comment that Kishitani (the real one) refers to his copy as himself in the memories, but in most of the memories, Kishitani refers to his copy as 'he'. So which one do you think is actually right? Properparadox (talk) 09:43, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

: I took a quick look at the original and it seems like the usage is also mixed. He refers to the person in the memory-sharing sequence as "I" and "copy". The situation in Japanese is a bit different, though, since first-person and third-person are grammatically the same and personal pronouns are used very sparsely. ==About Hakomari==

May I know what font you use for the colored illust? I would like to photoshop vol 6 for personal use (and maybe for public use as well) and want to keep it the same with your photoshopping. Or have you done vol 6 already? I want to help, if it's the latter. Castor212 (talk) 04:48, 2 June 2015 (CDT)

:I'm using Georgia for them. That said, I already typeset the illustrations ages ago, but haven't uploaded them for some reason that I don't remember. Probably because the texts aren't fully edited. So if you're planning to slap on English text, you may want to wait. EusthEnoptEron (talk) 15:55, 2 June 2015 (CDT)

Aye aye then. Is volume 7 is still in your schedule, btw? Castor212 (talk) 21:08, 2 June 2015 (CDT)

Excuse me EEE; may I know what's the status of volume 6 colored illustration? Also, is there any secific reason of why you use different font for vol 7 illustration? Just asking. Sorry if I sound nagging, but this is really gnawing at me since it's the only thing that felt incomplete :p

Thank you so, so much for translating Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria! I have read many, many light novels, and quite a few web novels. I now name UnHtZnM my favorite LN/WN of all time. Among Visual Novels, I've read pretty much every single translated plot-oriented VN, and only Muv-Luv Alternative can match it. Without your translation of this absolute masterpiece, I would not have even heard of it. Appreciate your hard work!!!

: Sorry about that -- I was just being lazy. Anyway, regarding your question: the text just says "糸", which can be both in my view, so it's up to interpretation, I guess. I personally pictured it to myself as a thin wire because it was also used in a wind-up mechanism. == Question about Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria ==

Hi! I just registered after getting to volume 3 of this light novel series. Until the revelations in chapter 1, vol. 3, I had been working under the assumption that all the bits you underlined had a special meaning to them. My working theory was that they were some sort of red truth like in Umineko. That was completely smashed when I several lies showed up in the chapter that I don't seem possible to be tricks of some sort. I tried doing some google searches but couldn't find any references to all the underlining you have done for the series.

So I was wondering if you could please explain the meaning of underlined phrases. Thanks.

--April 22, 2015-- TomaO2

: To be honest, I don't know whether or not Mikage had something special in mind when using underlines (or dots in the case of the original Japanese text). Most likely they're just supposed to emphasize certain passages, so I wouldn't read too much into them. EusthEnoptEron (talk) 11:36, 22 April 2015 (CDT)

:: I'm going to have to apologize. I stopped reading right after Daiya revealed himself as the owner of the box after game three, which I assumed meant that the underlined text from the earlier game was a blatant lie. I've gotten further now and it was, in fact, the truth and the actual box master of the game of idleness has been revealed. I suppose if I had spelled out exactly what I thought was the lie earlier, you could have corrected me at the time but I didn't want to write down spoilers at the time.

::Therefore, I'm going back to my belief that everything underlined is a truth of some sort. Either because the other person believes (even if he's wrong) or, if Kazuki thinks it to be true, then a literal truth of the story. That's my working theory of how underlined text works. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.

ː Corrected it. Also, great work on the first chapterǃ I copied the translation to the wiki this time -- to add them on your own, just click on the respective red link (maybe translate the link to Italian beforehand) and copy & paste the translation. You may also want to replace the "CAMBIO SCENA" with the symbols I've put and add the images with wiki tags. Just take a look at how I did it (or even better, use the original translation as a template). Maybe also update the "Aggiornamenti" section. == Permission for "Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria" (Turkish) ==

Hey Eusth, I really loved your translation of the novel, in fact it's currently my favorite light novel series, so much so that I'd love to share it in my own language on baka-tsuki, if you'd allow it. Thanks for all the hard work!

: Hey there, LoyalBlue. That's great to hear! Feel free to use my translations and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions regarding the translation. EusthEnoptEron (talk) 08:47, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

::Hello again Senpai! (Yeah that's kinda awkward, I'm sorry) I wanted to ask you something about the book. I tried looking for references but couldn't find any: the section in the 27,754th time - where Hoshino is kneeling in front of Maria and starts talking in a "polite manner." Is that a reference to a classic novel or something? Maybe I'm getting it confused with Wuthering Heights and Heathcliffe or something. Just wanted to make sure so as to better explain the situation. Thanks! --LoyalBlue (talk) 19:38, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

::: Hey there. Actually, I believe he's just talking in a theatric manner. At least, I didn't find anything it could refer to (neither did I find out what "Hathaway" refers to).

::: Here's the original text if you want to do some research of your own:

::: 「お迎えに上がりましたマリア姫。すべてを裏切り、すべてを敵に回し、ただあなた一人を護ると誓ったハサウェイでございます」

::: 「ずいぶん待たせたじゃないか、愛しのハサウェイ。窓際でお前を待つだけが取り柄の、スプーンより重いものを持ったことのない脆弱な私をよくもまあ待たせてくれたな。まさか27753回もの間、たった一人で戦場へ放り出されるなんて思ってもいなかったぞ」

::: Also note that we might have gone a little overboard with the Elizabethan English. There's no need to make it sound *that* old-ish.

::: EusthEnoptEron (talk) 23:40, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

:::: Ding-dong the nuisance is back. (^_^") I'm sorry I've been mulling this over for the last 3 hours along with another translator and we got nowhere, in a very slow manner (almost like our protagonists!).

: This part at the end of 27,754 (2) has got me really stumped. "The ground becomes unstable and tastes sugary for some reason—not on the tongue, but on the skin." In context it kinda makes sense - I imagine them slowly falling into an abyss of pure white while feeling the remains of the environment on their skin - I suppose. It's a bit confusing, could I request another explanation?--LoyalBlue (talk) 14:16, 1 August 2015 (UTC)

:: Seems to me like "a white wave" wipes away the world and leaves everything white. The ground then turns all wobbly/soft like some sweet (= unstable. This analogy was lost in translation) but the sweetness reaches him through his skin / pores. EusthEnoptEron (talk) 09:49, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

:Ohaio! Or not.. Ok.. I feel like I'm pestering you too much. Please tell me if that is indeed the case, I love you too much to want to be hated by you. *eek*

Anyways, next question is about this part in page 85 of the 2nd volume: "but her very facility is what I’m worried about if she... were to betray me." - what did you mean by facility? I've been gnawing it over and can't make heads or tails of it. Mental facilities? Sorry again! --LoyalBlue (talk) 09:23, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

:: Don't worry about it, the English translation can also benefit from finding weak spots. :D "Facility" in this case refers to "skill", meaning that he fears her exceptional skills if she were to turn against him. In some cases, using the history to look up an older translation helps (in this case: "She had easily thought of effective plans as anticipated, but exactly because of that I'd be afraid if she... betrayed me.") EusthEnoptEron (talk) 14:49, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

::Osashiburi! Genki Eusth-san? Well I'm out of Japanese now T-T - Anyways, I wanted to ask you how I could change the text in the illustrations? Otherwise they don't really get read despite the fact that I actually went to the effort of translating them all.. Any programs or such you can direct me to?--LoyalBlue (talk) 14:33, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

::: I personally used Photoshop, but you could also try Gimp, Krita, Paint.NET, etc. I can send you the cleaned pictures so you only have to change the text. Do you have a forum account where I can send them to? EusthEnoptEron (talk) 10:16, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

::::Uhh, yeah I have an account on the forums by the name of megagmat, I'd greatly appreciate it if you sent me the cleans. If not I have links to other forums on my discussion page. Thanks Eusth, you da best. Uhh, or should I just add an email or something?..--LoyalBlue (talk) 11:01, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Just wanted to drop a small message to thank you for putting so much time and effort into the HakoMari translation.

If it weren't for you, I don't think I would have got the chance to ever experience this masterpiece. Its definitely the best light novel I've read to date.

Permission for a Turkish translation of Tabi ni Deyou, Horibiyuku Sekai no Hate Made.
Hello. Thank you for your translations, I have read Gekkou and Tabi ni Deyou, and enjoyed both thoroughly. I must say, your translations feel like the work of a true professional, as I can't help but to feel envy towards your well built sentences.

Would you mind if I used your English translation of "Tabi ni Deyou, Horibiyuku Sekai no Hate Made" to TL it to Turkish? I will share the novel on this site, as well as on my blog and make PDF / EPUB files for download, and include your nickname next to mine on the files for providing the source material.

During the translations, can I come here and ask about stuff if there is something to be discussed taking the Japanese (which you know) into account? Also, can you tell me what the Japanese title literally means in English? Maybe if the meaning is somehow different I will have to know what "旅に出よう、滅びゆく世界の果てまで。" means for making the Turkish title more proper. --Flügel (talk) 23:00, 16 January 2016 (UTC)

: Hey there -- thanks for the praise!

: Regarding your request: Sure, feel free to use my translations and good luck with your project! Just ask me when you need help with something. The translation might be a little "messy" here and there.

: The literal translation of the title is: "Let's go on a journey -- to the end of the dying/collapsing world." EusthEnoptEron (talk) 23:14, 16 January 2016 (UTC)

:: Hello, it's me. On the 39th page of the PDF file, there was something that bothered me. "However, the served barley tea was made with fresh spring

:: water and so chilly that the surface of their cups fogged." "and" is kind of confusing there. Was it used with the meaning of "which was", or was it the weather that caused cups to get foggy? Flügel (talk) 15:38, 24 January 2016 (UTC)

: You can read it as "and thus so chilly..." or as "and so chilly, in fact, that..." but "which was" works as well, I guess. EusthEnoptEron (talk) 16:10, 24 January 2016 (UTC)

Hello, I saw that Dantalian no Shoka has been crossed out from your projects, but seeing as you are still listed as project manager, I'll ask anyway.

I'd like to have a bout at translating Dantalian no Shoka and start out with completing volume 2. : Hey there! The users in question have not been active in the last two years, so I'd say it's safe to claim the chapters if you want. Thanks for contributing! EusthEnoptEron (talk) 20:36, 7 June 2017 (CEST)

Thanks, I guess I'll just translate ahead then until the period expires. But so far I haven't achieved anything except for getting permission, so don't thank me just yet. ː) GhstWrtr (talk) 08:07, 12 June 2017 (CEST)
