− | :OK, giant revision needed for all the previously done chapters. My sentence structures are starting to become redundant and when you're in the middle of translating, you won't realise you're not making sense at all sometimes. Leaving someone else to firgue out what you wrote is no difference from putting the whole raw book down. Especially slow progress this week, my apologies here! |

Intro
- I did this at school where I don't have my source files, so you really can't blame me for spending time to do this instead.
- As other people have suggested that I should "decorate" this page, then so be it. But, honestly, who would ever care if I wrote that I came from another planet or I can read Chinese? So instead, I split this page into two parts, one will be a journal of anything I wish to share with you guys while translating, similar to my notes on Discussion after every translation, and the other will be banal stuff. Enjoy!
The Interesting Part
Today's journal (updated chapter-ly):
- No, I am not greedy. Not really. I'm just taking off more than I can bite. More than what I can bite in one gulp, that is. To those confused, I am also doing Hidan no Aria simultaneously with ZNT. It won't hinder ZNT's progress, since I'm only sacrificing my time spent watching anime after translating each chapter.
- Very unfortunately / fortunately, once I am hooked up on a series, it won't be that easy for me to stop pursuing what's going to happen next. After finishing the anime in one day, and the continuing chapters in another, I can't help but read what's going to happen next. Oh well, it's going to be a tiring month, I guess.
Last journal (sometimes I do multiple chapters a day, so this is just here in case you missed last one and wants to re-read it):
- If you were expecting today's translation, I'm sorry, I was out all day and couldn't use my computer until I got back and am totally exhausted right now, so figured I'd let you all know. Many Sorries here again!
The Less Interesting Part
Wildk Origins
Background
- I'm not Chinese. Well, technically, I am, but people born in Hong Kong like to differ themselves from Chinese. Or so we hope. Of course, if you get to the details, pure HK-ers can barely utter a complete sentence of Chinese, are a failure in reading simplified Chinese, and solve even the most trivial conflicts at the High Court. Other than that...,uhh~ pretty much the same.
Board Games
- We are strikingly similar to the core, culture or way of thinking. Games like Weiqi/Go and chinese chess is pretty popular in HK, I too being one of the fans, can't stop from staring at a game if we ever pass by one on the streets.
- Like every other Chinese, we try and ace in every possible subject while hidden from the world, then pop out of nowhere one day with trillions of rectangular sized paper with portraits of dead people on it. Unfortunately, most of us will fail and I ended up being one of them because of my bad memory and clumsiness. Still, I have my pride as an HK-ian and came forth to UT as a freshman, Mechanical Engineering.
Education
- If you too are one of the international students planning to spend the last few years of your teens at UT, unless you're applying for EngSci, I suggest you give up. As we all know, American Graduates are know nothing and English Graduates sparkle, while American PHDs are plain amazing and English PHDs state the obvious. I came walking in with an adequate knowledge of Mechanics, Calculus and Computer Programming. If I walk out right now, I don't think there's much difference at all. Maybe I'll come back again when I get a Master's degree.
- If you haven't noticed by now, yes, I was able to write complicated programs before I left high school. Before you start dreaming which incredible high school I went to, let me tell you a fact that all I learnt in my high school was to play better chess. I learnt computer programming all by myself. you could say that it is a genetic disease for Chinese to be manipulative, or you can also say that Kongregate Labs have really good tutorials. Really good. Really really good. I'm not going to comment on their games, but the tutorials absolutely deserve praise. Flash games just can't compete with my all-time favorites, Hitman Series and Total War Shogun 2.
Entertainment
- As for multiplayer games, err..., most likely if you see a player called Wildk or Wilram217, it's me. I have a short temperance for MMOs so don't expect too much. Of course, we can't miss out animes. It's what got me here since I can't stand waiting a week, or even a year for a new season, not knowing what's going to happen next. Life is pathetic :P . Like every other anime fans, I would want to advertise how amazing this one is and you must definitely watch that one, but I'm going to leave the rating to you guys. Here's a short list of the ones I found most memorable.
- Clannad After Story
- Detective Conan
- Kaze no Stigma
- Macross Frontier
- Spice and Wolf
- To aru no majutsu no index
- Zero no Tsukaima
- Some of them also of great OSTs. I usually listen to ones without lyrics, but Macross Frontier's OST is one exception, though.... it's in Japanese anyway and I won't understand a word. Zero no Tsukaima OSTs are also lovely, while Yosuga no Sora anime OST is breathtaking. But the most addicting one, has to go to Spice and Wolf's Wolf Whistling Song. The cuteness..... just... can't.....handle!!
Music
- God Knows how much time I have spent trying to imitate him. If you also like songs without lyrics, eventually one day, you'd have an sudden urge to play it out loud in your hands. I do know how to play quite a few instruments, Violin, Guitar and, umm, piano? OK, I have to admit, I'm not all that inward type and most of my time is spent playing foosball instead. I guess I'm not too bad at real-soccer either but as for other ball sports, nah, not too interested.
Sports
- On the other hand, though I may not spend much time in these sports, they are what I love most, archery and snowboarding. Both can be so simple yet challenging. Can't get enough of either.
Well, that's all I can think of to describe myself so far. If anyone wants to know more about me, unlikely but who knows, feel free to post me a message and I try and somehow connect it to what I've written so far. Either way, Happy readings!
