If you saw the cover illustration and the last battle in the frontispiece and thought "Whoa, that looks really cool," so you got interested and bought it, and then you realized "hey, this whole book is nothing but twintails," I apologize. But... but you can tell that from the title, can't you! If they write twintails in the title, what's inside is also going to be twintails from start to end!!

Even now I can't really believe it got turned into a book, but as I write this afterword, I remember when they told me I won the award several months ago like it was yesterday.

I want to express my deepest thanks to Hata Kenjirou-sensei, who agreed to serve as the guest judge, for choosing this story that I somehow managed to put together. The main reason I sent this in was to get the chance to have sensei read it, so I can hardly express my feelings! By the way, I'd like to see Hinagiku and Athena in twintails in the original story sometime too.

To my supervisor Hamada, I caused nothing but trouble and I'm sorry. Having the two of us to face each other with all our strength over this ridiculous story has been more support to me than anything else. Though I'm a hick who got lost on the way to the award ceremony and ended up late, I've been able to push ahead continuously without losing the chuuni spirit in my heart! Please guide me for many more happy years!

To my illustrator Kasuga, thank you very much for the supreme illustrations, both impressive and cute! I can't forget how moved I was when I saw the roughs of the scenes. When I heard you said you wanted to draw a picture of that one scene no matter what, my heart really got warm. Afterward too, I'm in your hands!
