Volumen 07 Capítulo 66 - El Examen de Ingreso

1ª Parte

El reino de Ranoa es el país de mayor tamaño de las Zonas Nórdicas del continente central.

Pero aunque sea el mayor de todos, su influencia nacional está alrededor del nivel del reino de Shirone, aunque posee alianzas sólidas con los territorios de Neris[1] y Basherant gracias al gremio de magia.

Si combinas el poder nacional de estos 3 territorios, aun estando situados en los alejados y poco fértiles territorios norteños, pueden llegar a ser considerados como la poco conocida 4ª fuerza del continente central.

Y es que Ranoa, Basherant y Neris forman la fuerza conocida en el mundo como el Triunvirato Mágico[2]

El motivo de que se le añada Magia al nombre de Triunvirato es debido a que la sede del gremio de magia se encuentra en esta zona del continente, aunque esa es solo una de las razones.

La principal razón que lleva a convertir este Triunvirato en un Triunvirato Mágico es que estos 3 países le dan una gran importancia al estudio e investigación de las artes mágicas. Sin darle importancia al coste de estas investigaciones, los más habilidosos y capaces en este ámbito se reunen en estos territorios con la intención de avanzar el estudio de la magia.

Solo por este hecho fue el que originó la alianza entre estos territorios, motivo que llevó a la aparición de una enorme ciudad en un punto fronterizo entre los 3 reinos aliados; la capital de la magia, Sharia[3].

En esta ciudad se encuentran La Universidad de Magia de Ranoa, La Sede del Gremio de Magia y El Atelier[4] de Objetos Mágicos; llevando a que en esta ciudad se condense y almacene todo lo que se conoce sobre la magia[5] y convirtiéndola en casi la sede del Triunvirato Mágico, además que no habría nada de malo en afirmar que es la ciudad más próspera de todo el triunvirato.


En los mapas de Sharia, se puede observar como en el centro de la misma se encuentra el gremio de magia, construido con lo último en ladrillo anti-magia[6]; en la zona oriental de la ciudad hay un Distrito Estudiantil que rodea la Universidad de Magia; y en la zona occidental se encuentra el Distrito Artesanal rodeando el Atelier de Objetos Mágicos.

En la zona norte se encuentra el Distrito Comercial organizada por el gremio de mercaderes y en la parte sur está el Distrito de Aventurero, con su algo pequeño puesto del gremio de aventurero y posadas especializadas para ellos.

Si se analiza minuciosamente la organización de la ciudad, se pueden observar varios aspectos que han tenido a Milis-Sion[7] como referencia para el diseño de esta ciudad; o al menos pude comprobarlo una vez pude ver la ciudad representada en un mapa, porque no me di cuenta mientras paseaba por esta.


Actualmente, tanto Elinalise como yo nos alojamos en un hotel lujoso en el Distrito de Aventureros.

Como cada vez que Elinalise pasa frío, se mete a hurtadillas en mi cama y me encantaría aprovecharme un poco de su confianza y casi provocativa actitud, manosearla mientras duerme solo me acaba deprimiendo. Por este motivo, decidí que nuestro alojamiento sería un hotel para aventureros de rango A que tuviera chimenea o alguna forma de calentar la habitación.

Elinalise no puso ninguna queja por este hecho, y por lo que pude ver durante nuestro viaje, existe un motivo de peso para su afición a los hombres, si de por sí no le veía problema salvo por mi estado actual de querer y no poder.

En el trayecto desde Basherant hasta Sharia, nos vimos obligados a retrasar la marcha una semana entera hasta poder llegar a la siguiente ciudad; su estado físico empeoró hasta puntos nunca vistos por mí hasta ahora, y entró en un estado de depredadora con sed de lujuria. Por mucho que me buscara con esos ánimos, no pude hacer nada, porque aunque estaba preparado para la acción, no estaba PREPARADO para la acción.

Al tiempo, me habló en detalle de lo ocurrido en ese viaje, y parece ser que sufre alguna clase de Maldición. Ella la llama Maldición de la Promiscuidad, y por lo que comenta, si no copula con un hombre de forma regular, moriría.

Visto de esta forma, sonaba bastante peligroso y aterrador, pero Elinalise por su parte no parecía especialmente estresada por este problema, ya que al parecer, su forma de ser de siempre tiene ya ese toque promiscuo. Así que aunque no sufriera esa maldición, su vida como tal no cambiaría demasiado a como vive actualmente.

Puedo decir abiertamente que apruebo su filosofía de aceptarlo como una enfermedad crónica y adaptarse a ella en lugar de frustarse por lo injusto de ello.


"Bueno, va siendo hora de que vaya a presentarme ante Jinas-san como me solicitó en la carta. ¿Qué vas a hacer tú, Elinalise-san?"

"Está claro que voy a ir contigo."

"...¿Por qué?"


Daba por sentado que se iría a ligar por el gremio de aventureros.


"Aunque me cueste, me gustaría inscribirme en la Universidad de Magia."

"...¿Por qué? ¿Tanto interés tienes en aprender magia?"

"Para nada, el interés lo tengo en los chicos que pueda haber allí de tu edad, Ludeus."

"Ah... comprendo."


En otras palabras, lo de siempre pero cambiando de aires... Y como es una Universidad, está claro que habrá otros chicos de mi edad por el lugar. Aunque claro, no sé bien las leyes de estepaís, así que no sé si habrá alguna ley que proteja a los menores de ser pervertidos por esta mujer... Aunque imagino que no pasa nada siempre y cuando no haya queja por parte de los chicos, ya que personalmente no me importaría poder caer en la tentación. Pero me estoy desviando del tema, porque en realidad no es mi problema.


"¿Pero no es necesario pagar una matrícula bastante carilla para inscribirte en la Universidad de Magia?"

"Eso no es problema para mí, ya que por motivos varios, poseo una buena cantidad de dinero en mi posesión."


Elinalise me confesó esto alegremente mientras le daba un toquecillo a la bolsa de monedas que llevaba colgado del cinto, dejándose escuchar el tintineo de las monedas amontonadas en ella.

Diría que ahí lleva algo más de 5 Asuras de oro... por no hablar de los cristales mágicos que lleva en su mochila.

En una ocasión me enseñó uno de los cristales mágicos que consiguió; se trataba de una esfera preciosa de color dorado que me recordó a estas bolas saltarinas de goma que botan muchísimo[8].

Si vendiera algo así, es posible que pudiera sacar más de 10 Asuras de oro... ¿de dónde la habrá sacado?

Pero en esos momentos recuerdo que aunque ahora mismo parezca una aventurera cualquiera, es una aventurera de rango S especializada en explorar Laberintos. Por este motivo, es más que probable que en una de las exploraciones le haya tocado en su parte un cristal mágico de este tipo, o quizás hasta como pago de alguna misión de rango S.

Es cierto que la entrada a la Universidad se puede pagar con dinero, y como eso no es un problema para ella, no puedo quejarme ni decir nada; por mucho que su motivo para enlistarse sea un tanto oscuro. Tampoco tengo motivos para que no lo haga.


"En ese caso, ¿partimos ya?"


Y de esta forma, nos pusimos en marcha en dirección a la Universidad de Magia.


2ª Parte

Ranoa Magic Academy boasts quite the gigantic school-grounds.

This vast area was fashioned mostly with brickwork, buildings composed of various bricking styles fashioned the sides of the ridged pathway, leading directly to the central building which looked like a castle.

Upon first seeing it from far away, it looks like it could have been used as a fortress.

The best image I could use to describe it is Tsukuba Daigaku[9].

Maybe not though, I've never actually seen a photograph of Tsukuba Daigaku before.


For now, I showed the letter I had received to the guard at the gate of the school.

[Excuse me, I appear to have received this letter...]


The guard took a look at the letter, and gave me an understanding nod.


[Do you know where the Administrative Building is?]

[I'm sorry, I do not know yet.]

[Alright then, From here go straight, it'll be to the right of the statue of the Academy's Founder. The building with the blue roof. Just hand this letter to the receptionist there, and she'll take care of the rest for you.]

In no time, I already noticed Elinalise-san making eyes at the guard, so I responsibly pulled her by the ear along with me.


Indeed, straight ahead of us was the statue of the Academy Founder.

Coming through the brick passage, the road opens up into a large plaza.

The road forks into three paths from here.

At the center is the statue of a woman wearing a robe.

『Ranoa Magic Academy, First Principal - Frau Claudia. Fifty-Sixth Generational Head of the Magic Guild.』。

Such was written on a plate affixed to the statue.

While we wait, we sit quietly on the available sofa.

Elinalise of course snuggles right into me.

Whenever she sits next to a man, she does that. It's really a bad habit.

But since it doesn't really bother me, I let it go.

She's happy to feel my manlike body, and I'm happy to have such a beautiful Nee-san next to me.

Everybody wins.

The only loser is that son of mine who doesn't react at all to the situation.


While lost in thought, I looked at my surroundings.

I'd give this receiving room a grade of C-rank.

The sofa is rather hard, and there is minimal furnishing.

However as a place for meeting with adventurers, it's actually fitting.


[Thank you for your patience, I am Vice Principal Jinas.]


After a wait of about one hour, Vice Principal Jinas appeared.

For not having an appointment, we were still met promptly.


With a receding hairline, he seems like a nervous man in the prime of his life.

He wears about himself a deep blue robe.

Is he a user of water magic?


[Pleased to meet you for the first time, I am Rudeus Greyrat.]

I greet him in the aristocratic form I learned, quickly bowing my head.

When I glanced at her, Elinalise also was bowing respectfully.


[And who is this person if I may inquire?]

[I am Elinalise Dragonroad. I share membership in a party with Rudeus.]
