Prologue

At the end of a day's training, I received enough food to survive. Although simple, I also received a clean place to sleep. After working for a set period of time, I was able to receive an amount of money I never had before.
Merit in the battlefield will always be rewarded appropriately. When I disguised myself and infiltrated enemy territory, I not only received a large payment, but I also got to experience shivering in suspense.
My heart trembles and I feel alive. The greater the risk, the better.
My homeland is important to me. It feeds me.
And so if I am ordered, I will go anywhere and fight. I will cut down any opponent. I cannot think about the reason. That is not something a mere soldier does. We're being paid to fight so we should just obey our superior's orders.
"Isn't that what patriotism is?" I asked an officer whom I hadn't met in a while. They didn't get angry or laugh at my rude question.
"What if it's a mission that's not worth the pay?"
"Then I would want to refuse if possible, but if the order comes from you, Your Excellency, I would think about it."
Ah, but cross-dressing is different.
I mean, it suits me so well I can't help it.
