Just to make it clear whether my knowledge is out of date or your information is wrong. Are you sure about licence for "Seikai no Senki" Vol 1-3? As far as I know there was only "Seikai no Monshou" 1-3 (of 3) books ever published in English. (And also "Seikai Trilogy" '''anime and manga''', i.e. Monshou, and Senki I and II, but still it isn't ranobe)

---------------

I own the lot, and made sure to look it up as I wrote. The licence is under ""Seikai Triology - Crest of the stars" with further reservations made (or in american english "all rights reserved"))" English text Copyright 2006 with tokyopop having made another in 2000 (which is presumably the original)

In law, this can be intrepeted as follows: for as long as they don't publish a translation, we may do ours (and ofc we won't try to copyright it, or spread it out of the site, do we?).

Semantics really. But law is all about semantics.

Furthermore, ofc the series and the books and mangas are under different licences since they are made by different people (the author gets royalties, licenseholder is another person).

So; you are not out of date. Neither am I wrong. You just didn't read into it enought. With love / --[[User:Novium|Novium]] 12:44, 24 March 2011 (EDT)

I think I understood now. I was just confused by sentence "Books 1 - 3 availible in english translation worldwide." since in the Web I've never seen even an allusion that "Seikai no Senki" 1-3 were ever translated into English (were it been translated, I barely believe there would be no info in Internet). And when I read it, I thought "may be I just missed something"

(And yes, legal English is sort of terra incognita for me [since every smallest detail is meaningful in juridical texts].)

Short Storys[edit]

Just curious, what is the unsorted Short Story section? --Darklor 12:47, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

Originally, Morioka Hiroyuki released short stories in the japanese SF magazines. In time some got gathered in the Danshou short story books. However, he is still releasing new stories that are not in book form yet. Hence, the "unsorted" title was chosen to address all those short stories. Almael (talk) 06:26, 10 April 2013 (CDT)

Vol 5[edit]

Hi there! Just curious, is there somebody who is willing to translate the upcoming volume? Just give us all some hope please 8))) --Glenrok (talk) 02:02, 26 February 2013 (CST)

Well, let's start with getting a source first. Then it's only a matter of effort and time. Almael (talk) 06:26, 10 April 2013 (CDT)
Would http://www.lightnovel.cn/thread-586602-1-1.html count as a Chinese source?
That and similar sources have been thoroughly analyzed and found to be inconsistent fan translations. We disregard them. Our work has moved on to the Japanese e-book version which is slightly different from the printed book. However, these differences appear to be of clarifying nature with a slight loss in literary refinement. Almael (talk) 21:26, 25 September 2016 (UTC)
Is the challenge funding the purchase of a book or actually obtaining it. I'm a fan and would like to see progress made on this. I am willing to fund the purchase of the Japanese version or anything else that is necessary to get a translation done.--Kaindal (talk) 21:42, 18 December 2017 (CET)
Thanks, but this has already been taken care of. Now onto the new sixth Senki novel. That's the new issue at hand. Almael (talk) 17:35, 5 September 2018 (CEST)
