About Us

Baka-Tsuki (BT) is a fan translation community that hosts translations for light novels in the Wiki format. Founded in 2006 by Thelastguardian (初代 - 2006-2016), Baka-Tsuki has since expanded to become the largest fan-based English light novel agglomerate on the Internet. Apart from physically hosting 261 projects in 29 different languages, Baka-Tsuki aims to promote the popularity of light novels and serve as a hub to connect readers with fan translations of East Asian light novels on the Internet. Baka-Tsuki is not a translation group. Independent translators come to Baka-Tsuki and voluntarily upload their translations to the Wiki for public sharing. 29 December 2018 '19–'21 BT Executive Council Nominations Nominations for the 2019–2021 Executive Council will begin on 1 January 2019, and be open through the 15th. Voting, if necessary, will be held from the 16th through the 31st. If you are an eligible contributor and wish to help with the operations of BT, consider running for the council. See this page for details' 26 December 2018 Small maintenance Shortly, there'll be a small 1 hour maintenance. During that time, the wiki will be read-only For more info or just to chat, visit the Discord server. Edit: and it's done. 03 May 2018 User Permissions change Due to the influx of spambots, some changes have been made regarding the ability to create new pages. To have the permission to create a page, Users will need to either contact an admin on Discord/via Talk page, or make at least 9 edits and have been registered for a minimum of 7 days. For any issues, visit the Discord #Support channel. Update: Due to the bots registering with emails, email confirmation no longer grants the page creation permission. For now, it'll be added to users on request (request via the discord). You still get the perm if you do the 9 edits though. 23 Nov 2017 Wiki upgraded The site maintenance over November 17-19 is concluded. The wiki has undergone major updates, please mention any problem in the Discord #Support channel. 13 Nov 2017 Site downtime November 17-19 Site maintenance is planned for November 17-19. The site is likely to be either read-only or fully inaccessible during the maintenance window. 28 Aug 2017 Executive Council selected The Baka-Tsuki Executive Council members for 2017-2018 are hobogunner, KLSymph, Lunar Vitae, R~S, and zzhk. 25 May 2017 Site downtime May 28th, 22:30 CET Site maintenance is planned for May 28th, 22:30 to 23:30 CET. The site (wiki and forums) will be inaccessible during the maintenance. 17 May 2017 '17-'18 BT executive council nominations open We have started the annual process of looking for volunteers among regular BT contributors to join this year's executive council and help resolve/decide policy on the site. Nominations run until June 3rd, after which voting, if necessary, will occur until June 18th. See this page for details. 1 April 2017 Baka-Tsuki Hijacked by Kittens.
