Since you apparently have access to the original Japanese novel here's a question. In Chapter 1 Kyon says:

Hmm. Yes and no. I was thinking that repeated attention to the more thorny points of translation, by different translators, might resolve the problems. That has been my experience, in other collaborative translation projects. In translation, too many cooks don't spoil the brew -- provided there is a master chef. How's your Escoffier impression, TLG?

The Editors request clarification of a passage

Since you apparently have access to the original Japanese novel here's a question. In Chapter 1 Kyon says: In the middle of all this mess there was always only one perpetrator: Haruhi – May arrived quietly. In this passage, Kyon implies that all disturbances at the school are related to Haruhi's antics. In contrast, May is said to arrive without significant events occuring.
