Como já abordado indiretamente na história, 'Steeplechase' se refere a uma corrida de obstáculos em Inglês. O conceito inicial não era para usar 'Steeplechase' como uma referência para a o evento final da Competição das Nove Escolas, mas sim como referência a uma "corrida de obstáculos" onde o protagonista deve procurar pela verdadeira face das conspirações jogas em sua direção enquanto superando diversos obstáculos. No entanto, refletindo nos resultados, ao invés de uma corrida de obstáculos, um labirinto com diversos becos sem saída faz mais sentido. Talvez 「Meandering Chapter」 (Capítulo Serpenteado) seja um nome mais apropriado. No entanto, 「Meandering Chapter」 daria a impressão de que os participantes ficariam vagueando pelo curso da corrida.
