I thought Offside occurs when the ball is passed to another team member while being between the opposing defenders and the goal, ie: you can't pass ''behind'' opposing teams defenders only, other members don't count (opposing forwards, midfielders, even goalkeeper if he/she abandons his/her post). I'm not great at soccer rules, but I believe it's when you pass to a teammate behind the person closest to their own goal in the opponent's half. Which is what the translation says.

Are you sure the translation of the explanation is correct. I thought Offside occurs when the ball is passed to another team member while being between the opposing defenders and the goal, ie: you can't pass behind opposing teams defenders only, other members don't count (opposing forwards, midfielders, even goalkeeper if he/she abandons his/her post).
