I realize that 'ボタン' is literally 'Botan,' but I've been translating it as 'Button' as opposed to preserving it because it's cuter and I see no reason to preserve Katakanafied English in an English translation. If a character were named 'Arekusu,' you'd change it to 'Alex,' and I don't see this being any different. I won't change it back for now, in case this will interfere with the continuity of other SEEN's. If this is not the case, I'll change it back and request using 'Button' in the future. Request input.

Oh dear, I spent all my life thinking Kyou's pig should be translated as "Button", because there's a scene where when Kyou introduces him to Tomoya, she says "Isn't it a cute name?". I'm quite sure it's Button, and I'm in support of calling ボタン that. --kwok 05:37, 14 February 2007 (PST)
Take note that botan could also mean Peony (a kind of flower) - Lantis 12:39, 18 February 2007 (PST)
Oh, I don't really mind if it's "Button", it's just that when I was translating Kyou's scene, I just thought that I should use "Botan" instead of "Button" for a reason that preserving katakana for pets name is better since it might add up some spice to the translation. Anyway, about the "Peony" though, I don't think that it's the right word because that "peony" is usually written in Hiragana or Kanji. When a word is written in Katakana, it mostly tells us that it's an engrish word. - DGreater1 7:45am, 19 February 2007 (Philippine time)
