19. Morning market

FX: *footsteps*

Conrad: Hazel!

Venera: Oh, hi. Did you sleep well last night?

Conrad: No, actually... we encountered an unexpected situation.

Venera: Unexpected? Ah... by the way, where's the young master and the rest?

Conrad: Late last night, some beings from this country attacked us. They were living dead. Furthermore, the person who controlled them seems to have be the emperor's mother.

Venera: Alazon? I mean, she was indeed a cold, brutal Empress, but I didn't know she possessed that dreadful skill.

Conrad: But the most important thing for me, was that my master stepped to the other side of the wall and into the labyrinth.

Venera: What did you say? It can't be, you let that kid go there by himself?

Conrad: He's not alone. A man who's as reliable as I am is with him...but....

Venera: If you were going to make that face you shouldn't have let someone other than yourself go with him.

Conrad: Of course! I thought I would go right after him, but the wall closed and wouldn't move. Please tell me, Hazel. How can I open that stone-wall?

Venera: Mhh... Right now, the fastest way would be to go ahead and get there before them.

Conrad: Get there before them?

Venera: The destination of that underground city[1] is north. If everything goes well, we could go in there through a lateral entrance and meet them midway. In any case, we need to leave the capital, do you want to go?

Conrad: Of course.
