Let me at least have nice dreams (Essay)[edit]

How are you doing? This is Takabayashi. I'm not doing well at all...... Everyone's on summer break, huh? World-wide. Among the people reading this, students are surely still on vacations. How are you spending your time? The kids that go to the elementary school near my house are really annoyi.... no, no, I mean really energetic and healthy. People say that kids these days are always sitting in front of the TV and never go out, but... what country are they talking about!? Or is it that Saitama is not part of Japan? Despite the heat, it sounds as if things are getting broken out there every day. Even when I'm sleeping, it's difficult to have nice dreams. I wake up thinking " That was kind of violent dream" and then I hear the kids banging on the fence or cans. Please, I beg you, at least hit them to a rhythm! Then at least my nightmares will be about "...... Marching bands?". Thank you. The neighborhood brat... sweet little children, don't seem to be praiseworthy kids who stay in their rooms playing games, doing the morning exercises, or doing their homework quietly. You little.... ~!!! Go do your homework~! I saw something on the news, and it seems that doing homework is really easy for br...... kids these days. First and foremost, they have Internet! Instead of struggling to research every individual subject, they can freely browse the internet to find answers. Back in the day, finding research material was the most difficult thing ever, and you'd have to go to a specialty store to buy some shitty books! Oh, sorry, my tongue slipped. And you don't need specialty stores anymore, you can go and get material at any department store nearby! You can get wood crafted dinosaurs to assemble, and even fossil excavation mini sets. They sell sets with instructions to assemble them properly no matter what, here and there and everywhere! That's cheating........ When I was a student (we're talking about the dawn of time), before using or building something we had to use our heads. As a result I'd use tape to stick three marbles together and say " Teacher, look! A chopstick holder" , and the teacher would say " It looks really pretty....." and then one day that seems to have happened a long time after that, I brought a moldy, smashed bread and said " Teacher, this is my fungus research sample" , "........................." and that's why I was pulled out of the classroom. But to be honest, I never did any homework during summer break and then pretended I didn't know about it. Until the homeroom teacher forgot about it. ■
