Epilogue[edit]

Hello! This is Kinoko Yamadai and Takenoko Riko in charge of a shoe store that opens up late at night[1] filling in for Tyrol-river-san who couldn't get their contacts out after writing up 'Contact' on the previous pages (we theorize that they burned themselves out[2]. We're delivering to you something you can't really call an afterword. Well, our circle, the Apollo Project, is a project that 'isn't a collection of stories that will go together immediately', but is a project that is committed to the desire to 'put on display ideas that are piled up and restless in our hearts.' [3] With that being said, this was the warm-up volume, '00 (not double o)'... But you know, when Takabayashi-san first heard about it, she said 'I kind of want to write a story about the slightly old friendship between a worn out Satou (X)ichi and a washed up Naka(X) Kiichi[4]', but how exactly did the story end up like this? Of course, there aren't many commendable people out there who would enjoy reading a story about old men, but even so, is this kind of content really OK? (is it okay because the characters' names are hidden.... hey, really?) On top of everything, is it just our imagination that the gentlemen Temari-san drew on the cover looks like a certain Daikenja? .... There are many things we want to say, but what is most pressing is will this book be out on time for the event!? And that's how it is, ladies and gentlemen. If by any chance this makes it in time for Comiket, it will all be thanks to SSP-san. Anyway, let's meet again with our fabulous line-up (we desperately hope) in 'Apollo 01'!

Back to Contact Return to MA Series Forward to Just talking among us this time
  1. To be honest, I wasn't 100% sure how to translate this. The original Japanese is 深夜開店のこびどの靴やさん係 and I have no idea what kobido means o.o
  2. This is a double note~ First of all, it's a pop reference to the ending of Ashita no Joe where it's implied that Joe dies (OR DOES HE!? We'll never know?) where it says 'He burned out... in pure white.' There's a huge debate over this quote in the fandom which I'm not involved in at all, but it's uber famous. Anyway, the second part of this note is that the word they use for 'pure white' is written in the dialect from the Niigata area(I'm only 90% sure of the area, so don't quote me XD) which is'マッチロ' instead of the common word '真っ白'. Long story short, they're saying that Tyrol-river-san practically killed themselves over writing the story out.
  3. For transparency purposes, the quote here was originally together in one sentence, but I had to break it up for it to make sense in English.
  4. The censored names of Satou Kouichi and Nakai Kiichi. Both actors
