There's two types of chocolates: the chocolates given to others just to be polite "courtesy chocolates", and the chocolates to tell someone that you like them, the "real valentine's day chocolates". Usually the "courtesy" ones are cheap and bought at a store, while the "real" ones are homemade. By the way, when you give everyone chocolates, you can also give the real chocolate to the guy you like without him knowing! WAI~!
- ↑ 1 month after Valentine's Day there's White Day in Japan. That's the day when men have to "return the favor" to the girls who gave them chocolates for Valentine's Day. It can be chocolates or something more expensive, like a bracelet or necklace. In anime you'll always see guys giving stuff back for White Day, but in real life, few men do.
