Project Suggestion

Here, everyone may suggest projects for future considerations. The idea behind this page is to give suggestions to any available translator looking for something to do. Projects suggested are not guaranteed to be worked on at all, if ever. Discussions about suggested projects are to be kept to the talk page, and headed appropriately.

How It's Done[edit]

If a series you think should be considered by others is not an existing project (remember to search for both English (or intended language) and Romanized Japanese titles), and it is not licensed in the targeted language, then you may suggest it here. A good post will have the cover of the first volume or similar, along with some basic information about the series and a brief synopsis. The synopsis should not have any spoilers.

Click the link below to get started, and use the title of the series as the subject of the new section. Writing your suggestion will require a bit of wiki markup. When placing your image, set the size to 300, align to the right, and format as a thumbnail. Essentially, use the following: [[Image:(simple file name).jpg|300px|thumb|right|(Optional Image Description)]] as the first line, then write your synopsis and relevant information. You will have the opportunity to upload an image when editing, as well as setting the aforementioned parameters. If they don't come out right, you can manually write in the values. After you have finished, make sure to use <br style="clear:both"/> as the last line. This ensures your image doesn't bleed into the next suggested project.

REMEMBER: ONLY UNLICENSED SERIES CAN BE SUGGESTED.

Record of Grancrest War[edit]

GC V1 C.jpeg

Hello,

I would like to suggest the series titled "Record of Grancrest War" (グランクレスト戦記 Gurankuresuto Senki) as a potential new project. The series currently has an airing anime, and I fell in love with it since the first few episodes. The main genres of this series are Fantasy and Action, and here is a short synopsis:

One day, demons from the dimension of Chaos invaded the continent of Atlatan, bringing heavy destruction with them. To fight back, humanity used Crests, a type of magic capable of sealing Chaos. To obtain a true victory over Chaos, the Grancrest, most powerful of the Crests, is needed. However, since whoever owns the Grancrest would become Emperor of Atlatan, the nobles instead fought each other to gain more Crest powers and lands, rather than joining forces to defeat the demons of Chaos. The story focuses on Siluca Meletes, a young mage who scorns the feuding lords for abandoning their people and Theo Cornaro, wandering knight and Crest holder who is trying to liberate his hometown from its tyrant lord. Joining forces, Siluca, Theo and their allies fight together to end the wars between the nobility and end Chaos.

This series is unlicensed for any official English publishers. Currently, there are 9 light novel volumes released in Japanese, with volume 10 to be released soon. On average, 2 volumes are released per year.

Here is a link to the light novel covers and intros of each volume (in Japanese): http://www.fujimishobo.co.jp/sp/201407grancrest/

Black Clover[edit]

Light Novel 1 Cover

Hey I'm here because me and my friends are looking for someone to translate both light novels for Black Clover.

Here is the premise of Black Clover: The series focuses on Asta, a young orphan who was raised from birth after being abandoned at an orphanage along with his fellow orphan, Yuno. While everyone is born with the ability to utilize Mana in the form of Magical Power (魔力 Maryoku), Asta is the only exception. He tries to achieve magic through physical training. Conversely, Yuno was born as a prodigy with immense magical power and the talent to control wind magic. Motivated by a desire to become the next Wizard King, an authority figure second to the king of Clover Kingdom, the two youths developed a friendly rivalry. Yuno obtains a legendary four-leaf grimoire held by the kingdom's first Wizard King. Asta, despite his lack of magic, obtained the mysterious five-leaf grimoire (which can't be clearly identified by others because its worn out), which contains mysterious elf sword and rare anti-magic. But after he and Yuno each joined a Magic Knight squad as the first step to fulfill their ambitions.

Tamako Love Story[edit]

This anime called Tamako Market (series)2013 and Tamako Love Story (movie)2014, this anime move is underated not that people know it but it has og anime teen romance around 2010 before the anime harem genres got popular, the anime got pretty known because the movie is easy to relate with romance teens, when the movies released they adapt the movie to light novel, because the light novel have more character arc, details, and after the movie story. but the novel didnt get known because they only released the light novels on japanese version, and they market it with only from their youtube and twitter accounts with japanese language so the people around the world doesnt know it exist untill now, they only search the lore from the movies end credit because it have some animated after the movie story,i know this because i have been searching around the Tamako Market/love story communities and nobody realized it. and i want to make their lost gone interest in the anime about the lore or after the movie story they have been searching for to come back again and rewatch the anime.

Synopsis:
Tamako Kitashirakawa is the eldest daughter of a family which runs the Tama-ya mochi shop in the Usagiyama Shopping District (うさぎ山商店街, Usagiyama Shōtengai). One day, Tamako encounters a strange talking bird named Dera Mochimazzi who comes from a distant land searching for a wife for his country's prince. After becoming overweight from eating too much mochi, Dera ends up becoming a freeloader in Tamako's home. The series follows the everyday life of Tamako, her friends, family and neighbors, and this peculiar bird. As well as keeping track to the main course of events, Tamako Market and the following Tamako Love Story film cover the emotional lives of the characters, particularly Tamako's childhood friend Mochizō's crush on her and both of them being too shy to open up to each other.

Is This a Zombie?[edit]

(Cover of Volume 1 of Light Novel)

Hello all, I'd like to suggest the light novel series "Kore wa Zonbi Desu ka?" (Is This a Zombie?) written by Shinichi Kimura as a potential project to pick up.

The light novel was originally written from 2009 - 2015 and has received an anime adaptation with 2 seasons + a manga (licensed). There are currently 19 light novel volumes, 7 of which have already been fully translated by the group NanoDesu, though they seem to no longer be operating (Last update was 11/6/16).

The synopsis is the following: Ayumu Aikawa is a zombie resurrected by a necromancer named Eucliwood Hellscythe after being killed by a serial killer. As he tries to make the best of his undead life, he encounters a Masō-Shōjo (魔装少女?, lit. Magical Garment Girl, a pun on “mahō shōjo”, magical girl) named Haruna and inadvertently takes her magic powers, being forced to become a Masō-Shōjo (and thereby crossdress) in the process. With Eucliwood, Haruna, and a vampire ninja named Seraphim living with him, Ayumu helps battle demons known as Megalos while trying to figure out the mystery behind his own death. (From Wiki)

If I had to compare it to something, it'd be kinda along the same lines of Baka No Test & Grand Blue. The series focuses on its unique comedy and the anime was/is pretty popular.

After recently rewatching the anime, I found that it was a shame that the rest of the series past volume 7 still wasn't available in english, especially since the anime only covered the first 7 volumes. Its a somewhat older series, but due to the popularity of the anime I do think there'd be quite a few people interested in what happens next. It should be noted that there is already a page setup for the novel on Baka-Tsuki.

Thanks!

I was about to say there's already a page for it. Have you tried inquiring with Nano on the status of the project? Also, as the manga has already been released by Yen Press, it would not hurt probing them about doing the light novel... --RS (talkdiscord) 05:44, 1 January 2021 (CET)
