Saito's first takeoff[edit]

On a purely technical note, when Saito asks Colbert to use wind on the zero fighter, is the translation accurate when it says to blow from the back? That would actually hinder the aircraft causing it to have a longer take-off. Wind coming from the front would cause the airspeed to increase, causing extra lift. Ground speed is irrelevant to an aircraft, the speed of the air flowing over (and more importantly under) the curve of the wings is the proper measure of speed. More air = more speed = more lift = shorter runway needed. (Though I do recognize this is counter-intuitive and the author may have simply made a mistake) Once in the air the opposite relationship occurs, a tail wind then is a good thing. For reference: http://www.challengers101.com/Tailwind.html (Or search google for tailwind takeoff, that page is the first result.)
