*Ah wo* (Cries of pain)
This bloody kiss, turned Kujou Hisu's first normal day of school—into bloody scarlet.
Just right after the opening ceremony on the way home, he is suddenly been bitten by a vampire.
Other people were going home to their parents for celebration. Many would celebrate this day by going out and feast commensurately. But Hisu, who is living alone, did not have such an event.
While he was lazily meandering at home, the sky suddenly turns dark.
With the cool night breeze in his face, Kojou walks into a nearby park.
The lush foliage and trees were blocking the light from the street lamps, so the entire area was extremely dark. One couldn't even see his or her own fingers.
But why did he choose such route? Kujou was not even sure himself.
To be more reasonable, it was due to a delicious smell of some kind.
On the road within the park, a sweet scent was emitted.
Hypnotized by the scent, by the time he had realized what was going on, he found himself on this particular deserted road.
The result of this— was a complete disaster.
A vampire from the myths suddenly appears in front of him. However, before he could even resist, he is bitten.
No, if we are to step back about 100 steps, being bitten isn't a big deal.
Although it felt awful to have so much blood drained from him, his life was not endangered.
If it was the average person — right before the touch of death - this deep question still might have been overlooked. But to Kojou, it was not a question to be concerned with.
There is the possibility of death from blood loss, but no matter how much blood is drained, there is no danger in the possibility of becoming a vampire.
Thus---the problem in front of him is...
“What is going on? Is this magic? Or a sleight of hand? Answer me! Human!”
This stubborn vampire tangles around him and refuses to go.
After she finish drinking blood, keeps on following, and incessantly yelling behind him.
“It is nighttime, can't you be a bit more quiet?”
“I am more lively at night!”
“What a troublesome vampire..”
Vampire Characteristic # 2- They become active at night, and retreat at dawn. For this characteristic they are called the king of the night, but to night-cats[1] like Kojou it is extremely annoying.
“Why does nothing happen when I bit you? After being bitten you should become my servant! Following my orders!”
“Don’t ~ want.” Kojou emphatically rejects her.
Truly, this kind of impossible thing happening, to a vampire it is same as if the world has toppled over.
No matter if its saints, nobles or murderous thugs, as long as she/he is born human, being bitten by vampires will trigger the transformation.
Also the people who are bitten, their spirit would be dominated by the vampire, with their only consideration to be the master's welfare....but Kojou does not even appear to pay attention.
“What kind of person are you?! What kind of magic is this? !?”
“I have no idea, this is not a skill, it is a physical trait, phy-sical.”
I have answered your questions several times already, an angry Kojou replies in an unfriendly tone.
“How could such a situation exist? Also, I am a VAMPIRE, you are meeting a lady like myself! Thus, you should be like..... that right??”
“It is scary. You are wearing this 'I am a vampire' outfit, I didn't expect I would be targeted by you.”
“Didn't think you were an expert. From the way you talk, this is not the first time you met a vampire right?”
“.....Ah, I used to know a vampire, that's it.”
Kojou didn't speak anymore, only kept walking silently.
Rushella also realises keepin on asking such questions like this would be futile, and she remain silent for a few minutes, then brings up a different question.
“....Backup 100 steps, I will recognize the fact you have an absurd body. And I don't care about those run-of-the-mill vampires; you cannot escape the fangs of a (True Ancestor). Confess, what trick are you using?”
Kojou suddenly stops.
Suddenly bringing up a certain description, and he cannot ignore it.
“True ancestor? Are you joking?”
“Of course not? I am at the apex of the vampire race, I carry the blood of the founder, the mighty 'True ancestor'-sama!”
As Rushella proudly replies, her full chest puffs up, and Kojou couldn't help but lower his sight.
“In a society like today, something like a true ancestor, is rarer than endangered species. Where are you from? Some place far in the mountains?”
“The way you speak is so impolite....”
When Rushella replies, Kojou begin to sense danger, and suddenly becomes more alert.
The opponent is a vampire. In pitch-dark night.
Other than his body, he does not have any special strengths, there is no way to struggle or win.
And the vampire girl has a pair of short swords attached to each of her legs. Each of her snow-white legs has a sheath bound to her fishnet hose, releasing a dangerous aura.
Against that, the only equipment is a high school book-bag.
Naturally, there is nothing in that bag that can be used against a vampire.
Recognizing his own disadvantages, Kojou's face darkens with fear. But Rushella returnes it with a enchanting smile.
“Don't worry, I won't use any violent tactics that would harm your body. I want you to voluntarily offer me your neck.”
Rushella squints her black pupils, and its shape changes into something resembling a cat's.
Then her eyes---releases a beam of scarlet light.
As his gaze met hers', he understood what Rushella is trying to do.
Vampire's third characteristic- Magic Eyes.
People who are weak willed would be enchanted by those scarlet pupils, and their spirit forever trapped in the darkness.
“Although this is not my original idea, but it is more noble than hunting you down. Not to mention a spiritually stubborn person, a person like you, cannot possibly escape my eyes' binding. Kneel before me, and offer me your neck!”
“Ah, magic eyes don't work on me either...”
Kojou scratched his head, and replied slowly.
Based on what he is saying, his eyes were not dazzled by the <<Magic Eyes>>.
Rushella's jaw drops, and stares back blankly.
Looking at her, Kojou couldn't but feel but sorry, and lowers his gaze.
“Thus......Sorry?”
“....Don't be sorry! This is making me even more mad, why is this? Why are my <<Magic Eyes>> not working?”
“That, also can be said to be an physical attribute. You know I would not transform into a vampire, and didn't expect this? Pretty much all vampire abilities does not work on me.”
“No...impossible...”
Rushella's shocked body collapses on the ground.
Some insignificant human. Both Vampire bite and Magic Eye appear to be useless.
It appear her very existence as a vampire is in doubt.
“I, actually was [defeated] by a human?”
Looking at a depressed Rushella, Kojou realize now is the chance to escape.
