• Body: This is the King's Game in which everyone in your class is participating. The King's command is absolute and must be done within 24 hours. ※ You can not withdraw from the game.
• ＊Command 4: Student Number 17 Tasaki Daisuke(m) and Student Number 20 Nakajima Misaki(f) —The two of you will have sex.

Nobuaki sighed deeply.

"For them to have sex...this is too much! It's impossible they would do it."

At that moment, he received a call form Chiemi.

"What do you think?"

Nobuaki asked casually.

Chiemi's voice was panicky.

"What do I think of it?! What were those 4 messages about just then? Hideki and Satomi will be hanged as their punishment? And the next command is for Daisuke and Misaki to have sex! Misaki is Shouta's girlfriend!! how can this happen? The person who made this game has gone too far!"

"Even if you ask me, I have no idea on what to do. This command is...impossible to be followed. If you're really worried about Hideki and Satomi, why not phone them? I'll phone Hideki, and you'll phone Satomi."

"Okay!"

With that said, Nobuaki ended the call and phoned Hideki; however, he could only hear the endless ring tones.

"What is wrong with Hideki?! Is he still playing Pachinko? ...Or did he simply turned off his phone?"

He ended the call and phoned Chiemi

"Did Satomi answer the phone?"

"No, she didn't..."

"Is that so? ..."

Listening to Chiemi's worried voice, Nobuaki told her, laughing,

"Forget this stupid King's message. You don't need to care."

"Really? ... But..."

"They won't really follow the commands and go hang themselves, right? Get some sleep now and see what happens at school tomorrow."

"Tomorrow..."

"Wait till tomorrow! Get some sleep today."

"I understand...Good night."

Knowing that Chiemi was worried, Nobuaki deliberately tried to calm her by laughing; however, a peculiar uneasiness came over him, so he phoned Hideki again in an attempt to allivate his uneasiness, but there was no answer. As for Satomi, he did not have her phone number so he could not phone her.

"...So I'll wait for tomorrow then."

Giving up, he went to sleep.

<The Next Morning>

The students in the classroom were buzzing about the King's Game. Among them, Mami and Misaki were talking enthusiastically.

"Misaki, have you read the message this time? You have to h-have sex!"

Mami clapped, laughing hard.

Misaki slapped Mami on her back, and their laughter filled the classroom. Nobuaki ran to the two, who were laughing and joking, and said,

"Mami, do you know Hideki? Did you contact him last night or this morning?"

Mami replied, laughing,

"Yeah! Around 10, he was playing Pachinko and won a bunch. He even flaunted complacently in front of me."

"10? What happened after that?"

"Nothing."

"Is it? ...I tried to phone him after 12, but he didn't receive the call, nor did he call me later."

"So?"

Mami's tone was filled with impatience.

"Don't you worry about him? Hideki and Satomi were punished and [hung by the neck]—didn't you receive this message? Will that person...for example, do something bad to them?"

"Ayhaaa~ ~ I don't care! I'm more concerned of the King's command for Daisuke and Misaki to have sex."

The only thing in her brain was to have sex.

Nobuaki returned to his seat.

In the classroom now, the excited and curious students formed circles around Daisuke and Misaki. Didn't anyone notice Hideki and Satomi haven't yet arrived to school? Nobuaki thought.

"Hey, Chiemi, haven't Hideki and Satomi come in yet?"

"Not yet. Satomi didn't call me back too."

"It's almost time for the morning assembly..."

After a short while the teacher came in the classroom, bringing along with him a strange atmosphere. At the end, Hideki and Satomi did not show up. The students returned to their seats one by one; at this moment, the teacher spoke in a serious tone,

"I have a bad news. Toyoda Hideki and Ishii Satomi have passed away last night. Their classmates have notified the school this morning."

His words stirred up a commotion in the classroom. Nobuaki stood up from his seat and asked,

"Sir, about the death of Hideki and Satomi...Are they hung dead?"

For an instant the teacher's breath was taken away.

"That's right...How did you know?"

"...Ugh..."

"Their parents suspect their children were bullied in school, but we teachers have assured them that there was no bullying whatsoever."

"Hideki isn't someone that would suicide because he's bullied! He isn't!"

Nobuaki roared promptly. Chiemi, on the other hand, covered her face with her hands and cried.

"Yeah! There was also no one bullying Satomi..."

"I (the teacher) thinks alike, so please don't blame on yourselves!"

Some in the classroom cried painfully; some others lowered their heads; some others showed jittery and uneasiness on their faces. At this blank moment, someone shouted,

"Does this have something to do with the command of the King's Game yesterday?"

The classroom filled with whispering sounds once again.

"What is that? What's the King's Game about?"

Therefore, Nobuaki explained to the teacher the things that happened every day in the class.

Everyone in the class will receive a message right at midnight. The message will contain a command directed to a few classmates in the class. Hideki and Satomi did not follow the command, and would their mishaps be ascribed to the game etc. Nobuaki reported to the teacher with his own perceptions.

"How can anything like that happen on earth! Would you even believe in such a stupid message? I know it's hard for you to believe in this, but please don't get too involved in these matters and focus back to your studies. The morning assembly for today ends here."

"Wait...Sir...How can we focus our studies in such situations..."

Yet, the teacher had already went out of the classroom and took his words like wind.

"How can he act like this?! Hideki and Satomi are already dead! They are our classmates! Is focusing on our studies really that important? Even more important that our friends?!"

Nobuaki shouted to the teacher's desk that had no one there. He fixed his eyes on Hideki and Satomi's seats—the owners of these seats who were still sitting here yesterday had already passed away.

"Can anyone tell me why did they hang their neck?"

After the teacher left the classroom, the students gathered swiftly and started their discussion.

"Don't tell me that if we don't follow the command we will have the same consequence as them!"

"How could this happen?"

"But they..."

Nobuaki interrupted Mami and Minako's conversation.

"Is the game that important?! You guys should at least care about Hideki and Satomi..."

Misaki then charged in with an ashen look,

"Aye! If the King's Game is for real, then...if I don't have sex with Daisuke, would I become the same like them?"

Nobuaki could not answer straightforwardly. He wanted to tell her "Please don't give a mind of the stupid command."; however, Hideki and Misaki's being hung dead was an undeniable fact.

Suddenly, Shouta shouted angrily,

"Misaki! Please don't believe in this! This must be a coincidence. Were you to follow the King's command and have sex with Daisuke, I will certainly split up with you!"

Misaki replied with a shivering voice,

"But...If the consequence of not following the command is such terrifying..."

"I won't believe in something like that! Daisuke, come over here!"

Daisuke approached him timidly.

"...So?"

Shouta grabbed Daisuke firmly by the collar and lifted his body up.

"Were you to use the King's command as an excuse to have sex with Misaki, I'll kill you!"

Daisuke turned off his face to prevent direct positioning to Shouta.

"I understand..."

"You hear it, Misaki? This goes the same for you!"

"But..."

Nobuaki, who could not help to see this worsen, quickly went among them to arbitrate.

"Leave it, Shouta. Don't get so infuriated now. The two haven't done anything wrong by now."

"You're annoying! Who needs your meddling in my business!"

Shouta loosened his gripping hand and ran out of the classroom. Misaki then returned to her seat.

"Aye, Mami and Minako. How should I explain to him? Should I go to die instead?"

Mami and Minako dare not speak more. To Daisuke, Misaki, and Souta, Hideki and Satomi's passing away was far less important than the decision they have to make right now. Seeing their awkward atmosphere, Naoya ran to the front of Nobuaki and said,

"Is the King's Game for real? If it is..."

Nobuaki brushed him away with his hand for he was blocking his vision.

"The King's Game...What shit it is! Hideki and Satomi are already dead!"

"Oh...Sorry..."

Chiemi was weeping at Nobuaki's side. Nobuaki gently stroked her head. As he stroke, his tears rushed from his eyes.

Hideki and Satomi would never come back. They have died as what the message said for not following the command. This must have stirred everyone into a panic.

Should the appointed two follow the command this time? Was the death of the previous appointed two only a coincidence?

Amid the turbulent classroom, Misaki took out her phone and looked like she was trying to send a message to someone.

Some were particularly mindful of the punishment of the King's Game. Some became sorrow for Hideki and Satomi's death. Some others were perplexed of whether their death was simply coincidence or not.

The classroom atmosphere had altered greatly since Hideki and Satomi, the fun makers of the class, passed away.

Perhaps slowly starting to accept that Hideki and Satomi's death was true, most classmates were afflicted with grief. Gradually knowing that Hideki and Satomi would not be in the class anymore, many classmates could not help crying.

The after-school bell rang and Nobuaki packed his bag and prepared to return home as usual. Chemi approached him closely with a sad face.

"Can I stay at your house tonight? I want to stay with you."

Nobuaki lightly tapped on her head and replied gently,

"Sure. Come over!"

Chiemi wiped off her tears and smiled to cover up her sad face. She then hold tight to Nobauki by the sleeves of his uniform as if telling him she was ready to go.

On their way home, the two did not talk. If they did, they will, for a high possibility, stretch their conversation into something about Hideki and Satomi. Just thinking of them stimulates their tear glands; hence, they refrained from talking to forget anything about the King's Game. Chemi hold tight to Nobuai by the sleeves of his uniform all the way for sentimental support. They still did not talk after they had entered Nobuaki's room. What they could, as they thought, was to snuggle up to each other and heal their injured heats with their body warmth.

They were not aware of the time; and after some time, their phones suddenly rang together.

Nobuaki stood up abruptly.

Their receiving of the message of obedience confirmation implies that Daisuke and Misaki had followed the command due to fear of the punishment.

"Would...Daisuke and Misaki really followed the command?"

Chiemi could not help crying.

"Maybe...What if we receive the same command next time, then what will we do, Nobuaki?"

Nobuaki hold her in his arms and comforted her,

"Who said one must follow the command?! But, now everyone in the class know that Daisuke and Misaki had sex—how unfortunate."

"Shouta must be going nuts now..."

"I think so too—let's phone Daisuke and Misaki to find out. I don't know Daisuke's phone number, so I can't help him. Oh, I think you have Misaki's phone number, right?

"Yeah, I do."

"Then please phone her...No, please don't."

"Why?"

"Do you have to ask? Will you really go and ask her did she have sex with Daisuke?"

Chiemi replied with a sleepy tone,

"Is this fine? He just need to make a simple order and that's it..."

"Right! You...haven't really wake up, right?"

"Good night."

"What is a simple command like?"

Chiemi coldy replied,

"Sleep."

"Isn't this command too ambiguous? Something simpler like 'to eat' or to 'breath' would sound better—what do you think?"

Nobuaki looked at Chiemi for her response, but she had already fallen into deep sleep.

"...You're right—sleep."
