Hmm. Ren'ai does translate to passion but it also translates to lovemaking, just as you said. However it also furthermore translates to love, affections or emotions. However the closest match that is found on the net is "Romance" or "Romantic Love". Sorry for the lateness but I wished to make sure by searching out and comparing different sources: [http://translate.google.com/#auto|en|%E6%81%8B%E6%84%9B] |

+ | Regarding the last paragraph currently translated - "<small>I found that Virgo began on the 23rd of September. In other words, today. If Aria's birthday was before this date, I should be blown full of holes by now. As such, I can guess that today is her birthday.</small>" -- that seems odd to me, considering the logic of it. If she was a virgo and it started Sept 23rd, it'd only mean that would be the ''first'' possible day that it could be her birthday (and the exclusion logic is unwarranted). However, if it were Sept 23rd being the ''last'' day for virgo, then you could reasonably conclude that it must be her birthday simply because it hasn't happened yet already. |

− | Zero can you please stop this discussion. Dont prolong this discussion like last time. If the translator choose that word, so be it. If you have better ideas leave it be until the volume is completed. This is fan translation, no one expect this to be perfect..... |
||
+ | Am I understanding this wrong here, or is this a mistranslation or perhaps a logical reasoning failure on the part of the author? |
||
− | Beside if you can complain on the word Cosmic choose i assume you have good enough proficiency in English and Japanese. Then why dont you help the translation then, by taking a volume/chapter that they havent translated yet. If you dont just leave it be until its done. |

+ | I was just reading through, and I thought it was a bit weird too, so I looked it up. [年にもよるが乙女座は9月23日まで。 つまり、今日までだ。]. The use of 'まで' here means end. I also looked it up on the net (oh the irony) and according to wikipedia, Virgo begins August 23 and ends on September 23. --psylo |

− | To KuroS: OK, I'll stop. But I only have a certain level of proficiency in the verbal form or in the romaji form (for the kanji, etc posted here I have to rely on google translate's read aloud ability). Sorry but I've yet to study the Kanji, Katagana and Hiragana. Plus the fact that I can't get my hands on the Light Novels here in this country. And I'm not exactly complaining about any translator, y'know. I just wanted to be sure if it was right because it felt somewhat out of place. But now that it has been rationally explained to me I understand. I'd actually love to help out by translating chapters but for the above reasons I can't. So I try to help out as much as I can with what I can. That's why I ask when I'm unsure. If I'm wrong just kindly explain it to me. That's all I ask. Is that bad? − | Well it isn't wrong, but don't overdo it, some people could be offended if you push them too much you know. |

− | Well that would solve the availability problem but I still have to learn the characters. Thanks for the info. I think a balance between overdoing the questioning and the tolerance to the questions is needed more. [[User:Zero2001|Zero2001]] - [[User_talk:Zero2001|Talk]] - 06:17, 10 July 2011 (UCT) |

+ | *Nod...tremble, tremble* |
||
+ | I believe that the word "tremble" has been used in the part written above to denote the shaking of the head in order to convey the word "no". If so then this is an incorrect choice of words. "Tremble" means to ''shake involuntarily, typically as a result of anxiety, excitement, or frailty''. The word "shake" would be more appropriate as it is used to denote the shaking of the head and is considered the opposite of "nod". If my initial assumption is incorrect, then kindly inform me. − | Yup, and this discussion wouldn't even happened if Zero2001 have the raw material from the start. He always discuss only from the perspective of someone who just read the English (translated version). If he have the japanese version this discussion/other discussion would be more constructive. Not complaining or nagging over one/two word but he should have give the whole sentence as a better solution. Not just a mere 1-2 word discussion. seeesh. |

Is it really 30 messages / minute? That doesn't make much sense, unless it's 30 messages, two second long, back to back.
Shouldn't it be 30 one-minute long messages?
Changed it back to the original 1 min x 30 messages whatever that means. 30 1 min messages? 30 in 1 min? I don't know

Yes I'm very well sure I'm correct thank you very much...恋愛 means passion or love-making in the passionate emotional sense. If your field of vison weren't so narrow you'd realize that love making doesn't just mean the physical act of sex. It can also literally mean the act of creating love. Seriously do you have a sex phobia or some religious restriction on that matter or something that even the mere mention of it is anathema to you? I'd recommend you stay away from maybe 99% of all light novels including this one then.
Ok, ok....Time to get back to the usual routine of translating and waiting for translations I think. I'm leaving the explanation for renai there as it's a legit topic--Cosmic Eagle 01:07, 10 July 2011 (UCT)
Hmm. Ren'ai does translate to passion but it also translates to lovemaking, just as you said. However it also furthermore translates to love, affections or emotions.
