Oda Nobuna

Hey guy, I noticed that Vol3 ch 1 has an "epilogue" witch is rather strange... is this intended, like in HSDxD?

I have no idea... it was created by another translator... maybe you can ask him?

Tarmade: Hmmm, I think that was because the chinese translator divided the two chapters to 2 parts. So he did it too without knowing that it is all part of chap 1 and not epilogue. I will inform him then.

Is he actually going to do this?^^ I mean theres 5% left, shouldn't be that much work. Maybe you could translate that and end volume 3. --Thuruk (talk) 19:02, 3 June 2013 (CDT)

Tarmade: I had asked before but he said he will be finishing... I do not want to probe so much as it is his chapter and he can do it leisurely...

Ok, I can understand that. :-) --Thuruk (talk) 06:21, 4 June 2013 (CDT)

Oda Nobuna Edits

Hello! Had been working on your Vol 4 translations for the past few days. Sorry that I had not informed you earlier, but I had done some major edits to the translations. Some of the sentences were not sensible and others just had words without any proper stops. Thus I took the liberty to change without trying to change the original meaning ( in my view ). Sorry about this! Sorry about the lateness in telling you. Its of your decision to change it. Just to inform you, I will only be doing all minor editing for Vol 4 Chpt 2. So you will have no worries! - Rukiabankai (talk) 01:53, 2 June 2013 (CDT)

Tarmade: No problem, do what you want as long as there is no change in the meaning... I know my english is bad... Hahaha...

Alright! Yes, to me there is no change. But will wait for the actual project editors to check it. thanks! so I will continue with the editing. Though not supposed to say here. Keep up the good work! Oh, 1 question, I noticed the sentences jumps into the past tense and present tense very quickly. Do I leave it as it is? - Rukiabankai (talk) 02:01, 2 June 2013 (CDT)

Tarmade: Nah, it's just my bad english at work there... Correct it as you see fit. T.T!!!

Hm, ok. Your english is not bad :) Then, I will do my best as an editor. - Rukiabankai (talk) 02:07, 2 June 2013 (CDT)

For your Chapters, I noticed for every section you place 2 double spaces in between. Do you want me to convert that into Parts? Just checking - Rukiabankai (talk) 02:38, 4 June 2013 (CDT)

Tarmade: I do that to make things easier to read... Do whatever you like as long as the readers does not feel any different...

I have done it. I think it looks more readable now. Oh, I noticed that for Vol 2 certain 'interesting' English words had the Chinese words written beside it. Eg: Sukagi-ya. (醋鍵屋), [Rakuchi] (乐座) and etc. But in Vol 4, it seems there are no Eng words meaning. Eg, 妙觉寺 and etc. In your Names and Terminology, the words too are not in. If my Chinese is really great I could translate it, but I can't. Do you want me to leave them as it is? - Rukiabankai (talk) 05:02, 4 June 2013 (CDT)

Tarmade: That's what the editor did... I don't really have much preference on which is which as i leave it to the editors to plan it out... But I do like some consistency between the volumes...

Oh. Alright, then I will follow along the lines of your previous volume (Vol 2). Thanks again! Oh, before I make some silly mistake, I need for help again. Sorry to trouble you! When you say himeko, are you referring to the queen? or just any of the ladies? I was quite lost in this.. Because sometimes, I think it could be either. But better check with you.- Rukiabankai (talk) 08:42, 7 June 2013 (CDT)

Himeko is particularly the young girl with black hair. For the chinese terms, if you want to leave them in, please replace the chinese short kanji with japanese long kanji. Wiktionary helps. :-) But I always replaced them with english words. --Thuruk (talk) 09:23, 7 June 2013 (CDT)

Sorry to trouble you. I just to inform you, I will be using arquebus as I am following the past volumes edits. Thanks! - Rukiabankai (talk) 00:54, 11 June 2013 (CDT)

Translator's notes and References

Hey Tarmade, first of all thank you for all your Oda Nobuna translations. I started helping out with some basic stuff recently and had a couple of questions.

1. When i was cleaning/updating the translator's notes and references to work/group nicely on the chapters and full text pages i noticed that the location of the "Translator's Notice: For more info on updates..." note varied per chapter (and was sometimes even missing).

Tarmade: Go ahead and add them in. I dun mind at all.

I moved the note to the Translator's Notes and References because it was not part of the chapter itself (example). Rukiabankai indicated that there might be other options (see my talk) or that perhaps you want it moved to a specific location? Could you give your input on that?

Tarmade: I'm ok with you guys shifting anywhere you like. As long as it is in the page, I do not mind at all.

2. Is the translator note/warning concerning the rough translation on top of various pages really required? Because it is a given that the translations on Baka-Tsuki might be rough or in need of editing. Tarmade: It's kinda how I do things at the start, I had not put them in the recent updates. Do with it as you like. 3. And lastly am i allowed to expand, add to and edit the current Translator's notes and References? I felt that while reading, some things required additional or improved explaining (with perhaps external references).

Tarmade: By all means, GO AHEAD! I welcome anyone who wants to help out in making Nobuna more popular and reader-friendly... Go ahead with what you are planning...

Sorry if these questions seem silly I just got started and wanted to be sure before changing things. --Ginja04 (talk) 11:52, 13 June 2013 (CDT) Tarmade: Not at all, they are good questions.
