The reason I changed my editing style is because I was talking to my old roomate, who's a translator for a few different novels and like ten manga, and he said that in general it was better to go all out and change the format to full-on paragraph. For me personally, I decided to edit because all the excessively superfluous interjections and such that come with vanilla translating and leaving it in the Japanese sentence format both take up needless space and distract/confuse the issue for casual readers. Once named Futon Lord, I finally couldn't stand its chuunibyou ring.

General Talk

Tate no Yuusha

Hello, you've added a lot of preview pages in a very short period of time by copying the text from external sources. Just checking, but did you ask for permission to copy the text into BT from the people who posted it at those external links? Also, it would also be appropriate to ask the BT project manager and/or supervisor if they are ok with those new preview pages being made. You may have done both of those things, but it wasn't immediately apparent to me so I asked. --Cthaeh (talk) 07:40, 22 November 2014 (CST)

Shield hero external - preview- links

Dear Subsinexus,

Shifting the contents of the external links to a native B-T page is a delicate matter, due to new baka-Tsuki legislation (2015), any translation on baka-tsuki is subjected to a machine translation evaluation by a senior Baka-Tsuki translator. If suspected of using machine assistance and fails the requirement, it will be removed from the wiki.

So in technicality, it is allowed, the last time I checked in regards to the pastebin source, I could not in good conscious say that they meet the non-MTL requirements.

Therefore I encourage the translations to be externally linked and labelled as previews.

However I have yet to evaluate the scripts by the current two translators.

However I have read the kookie does admit to using a little of machine assistance, if she is honest, should be okay. However I'm not sure about the other and I therefore advise you to be cautious and refrain from doing so, as any Baka-Tsuki staff can initiate the MTL legislation and would put all translations hosted on Baka-Tsuki to an MTL evaluation.

Best regards,

Onizuka-GTO 18:16, 22 November 2014 (CST)

There's a misunderstanding somewhere here, because I believe Onizuka-gto discouraged adding the text, as you've continued to do, and advised leaving it as external links (the current/previous method). Your reply on his talk page implies it is okay as long as a "preview" tag is applied, but I do not believe that is the case. All text uploaded should satisfy the MTL standards oni was referring to, and after it does, then it can stay if it has the correct MTL tag (a "preview" tag does not make it exempt). Actually, I think the external links were a bit of a grey area already. Therefore I suggest you stop transferring until this can be clarified. You can always pick it back up later if I happen to be the one with the misunderstanding. --Cthaeh (talk) 01:36, 23 November 2014 (CST)

I believe it's your misunderstanding this time. Madan no Ou, Mushoku Tensei, and multiple other projects contain confirmed machine translation 'previews' next to the side of the chapters. If you're that worried about it, I could try copying what Madan no Ou does - add a notice at the top of the preview page declaring it a machine translation. Visit one of its preview pages to see what I mean. However, I doubt that's necessary. --Subsinexus (talk)

Madan, Mushoku Tensei, and most other projects were done before the MTL guidelines were revised/created, and they therefore don't follow them. You can read the guidelines here, which I believe suggests using "MTL" rather than "preview" (but I don't personally care about the template at the top, or the page naming really). The most important aspect of the those guidelines, from my perspective, is not the page naming, but rather the approval process. --Cthaeh (talk) 01:52, 23 November 2014 (CST)

Un, I'm pretty sure that those guidelines are referring to the process which must be undergone if you want to put a machine-translated chapter into a 'main' chapter page. The reason I think so is the last rule:

Any chapter done by a machine can be overwritten by a human translator. Unless it's a translator guess-lating and inventing stuff out of blue, a human translator who shows the ability and the effort can overwrite the machine translation script with his own work.

In any case - I will soon be busy with other stuff, and can only take time now to do what I wish. So - unless Onizuka-san puts his foot down, I shall finish this shifting, and if it gets deleted later, I'll be too busy with other stuff by then to care. --Subsinexus (talk)

By the way, Cthaeh, out of curiosity, what are you? I can't tell if you're a superactive standard user or a member of management. Your contributions and edits prove you've been here for a while, and you seem to do a good job policing the various projects. When you first posted here, your words certainly did have an 'admin' tone. But it's sorta hard to tell. Subsinexus (talk) 19:11, 23 November 2014 (CST)

Well, given how loosely BT is organized, I would say the difference between the two is somewhat blurred. I do have additional user rights on the wiki (deleting pages, blocking users) and moderating the forums, but I probably wouldn't be called an "admin." If you're wondering why I was the one who originally contacted you, it is because I am an active user (who spends time monitoring new changes), your changes were very visible, and transferring in external pages without permission is something new users do now and again. Additionally, with regards to my followup comment(s), I participated somewhat in the admin discussions that led up to the current MTL guidelines, so I'm more interested in clarifying those going forward rather than with what happens to this particular project. My 'suggestions' were in the interest of saving time/effort. --Cthaeh (talk) 21:08, 23 November 2014 (CST)

I see! So you're like...a half-admin. Somewhere in between. Yeah, I expected my changes to be strongly visible - 100+ newly created pages have got to stand out. If you participated in the creation of that MTL page, you must have a good idea of the rules. However, since even with that you were not able to give a solid veto (only unsure suggestions), my actions must currently be at the fuzzy borderline between allowed/not allowed. Meh, no use worrying about it; let's see what happens. I'm putting some effort into editing the chapters I'm bringing in, in hopes of improving their quality even further. It's worth the risk - the Tate no Yuusha project definitely could use some consolidation. Subsinexus (talk) 22:01, 23 November 2014 (CST)

Nonsense

I could probably fix your laptop if you wouldnt be living a few thousand miles away haha Mineral4r7s (talk) 11:49, 16 December 2014 (CST)

Well getting new hardware for a laptop is almost a no go. Replacing hardware only works in a desktop pc. but that doent matter right now.

The hell is this. I arrived at volume 9 from mushoku Tensei and there are chapters missing? my heart aches. I long to continue reading but I cant. duh. I am sad. Why have you done this to me. If you would not have mentioned this light novel I would not have to suffer right now. (don't take it to seriously I am just sad I can't continue reading) Mineral4r7s (talk) 18:22, 20 December 2014 (CST)

There's not a SINGLE missing chapter of mushoku tensei. The entire series is fully translated. I think this is because you're reading this from a tablet, using the app. Look at the baka-tsuki website on a computer, or using an internet browser, and you'll get it.

Editing done. Every single 'preview' chapter should now appear in the baka-tsuki app. Make sure to use the 'update now' option to make my updates show up.

A preview chapter is basically a chapter translated by a lower-level translator. Not as good, but since people are editing, their quality is very high. You won't notice any difference in quality, until maybe once you hit volume 21~ or so.Subsinexus (talk) 14:04, 21 December 2014 (CST)

Wow thats awesome. Ofc I didnt read ahead. I can't do something like that. Thats preposterous. Reading a book ahead... Checking the last page for something else then to look up the number of pages. preposterous. sacrilege. But all is good now. Thank you very much. Oh and the newest Fate/ Unlimited Blade Works anime is coming close to its conclussion. Its on 11/12 episodes. The last episode should air next week? Take a look at it. I haven't yet but I will as soon as the last episode is aired. Many other animes finish next week so theres a lot to talk about the next time you appear in steam. Mineral4r7s (talk) 16:14, 21 December 2014 (CST)

I realized fitts true identity right after she wanted to call him Rud... How many chantless, same age persons are there that know Rudeus and call out to him as soon as they see him? I was confused at the white hair at first but figured for myself that she changed her hair color in some way as she received a lot of resentment for that original hair color. And thanks for the second season warning in regards to UBW, a cliffhanger would be bad there are a lot of other finished animes I want to watch. And everything worked out for the app. I can read them now. There are doubles. The preview is still there but a working version aswell. Mineral4r7s (talk) 16:40, 21 December 2014 (CST)

It maybe feels lacking in scale cause there is a second season. We should wait for that before we do out verdict. I really enjoy Mushoku Tensei, I absolutely did not expect that. But it is awesome. The very best. Gotta catch em all. N stuff. I can't wait to read more. haha. Just so sad it will be over soon. only 21 volumes atm. Mineral4r7s (talk) 17:4 21 December 2014 (CST)

I wish you a merry Christmas Subsinexus. Mineral4r7s (talk) 06:14, 24 December 2014 (CST)

Yeah it does. In germany the 24th is the main day. Mineral4r7s (talk) 05:36, 27 December 2014 (CST)

By the way have you watched "Sunday without God" yet? Mineral4r7s (talk) 15:09, 27 December 2014 (CST)

good luck with the repairs. sounds annoying to edit text with cellphone. Mineral4r7s (talk) 06:08, 28 December 2014 (CST)

My Christmas was the most fun and most stressful yet. Lately I started watching more anime again. For some unknown reason I haven't felt like watching anime but its coming back. I have completed a handful of new animes that aired last season and are completed by now. We can talk in more detail the next time a wild subsinexus appears in steam. Mineral4r7s (talk) 09:43, 29 December 2014 (CST)

Happy new year. Mineral4r7s (talk) 10:09, 4 January 2015 (CST)

Certainly sounds like electronics hate you. Hows your laptop repair coming along? I have reached Volume 17 and still enjoying it a lot. Recently I started watching Twintails and oh my god that anime is hilarious. Its so bad its awesome. If the creators wanted to make a parody of magical girls and power rangers they succeded greatly. Besides that I started to watch a few episodes of The Seven Deadly Sins and I am loving it so far. Really enjoy it a lot. Its at 13 from 24 episodes so I have to restrain myself. I don't want to hit that weekly dead end. The anxiety from the gloriously placed cliffhangers would kill me. I hope your electronics destruction curse will be lifted soon. Mineral4r7s (talk) 05:05, 12 January 2015 (CST)

You should try reading the Alcatraz books from Brandon Sanderson. I guess you will find yourself in there and they are super hilarious. Made me laugh out loud in the break room in one of my former employers. Another one who heard me laughing one time too often smashed down his newspaper on the table, everyone gazes upon him, he stands up and says: "What am I doing wrong? Every time I read the newspaper I just get sad!". It was awesome I don't think I will ever forget that moment. So fun. Books are great.

My reading pace for mushoku tensei slowed down a lot as I was slowly but surely approaching the end of it. I am struggling against the inevitable. Oh well. I started watching Bakemonogatari and for some reason its really captivating.

Why dont you use the ~ ~ ~ ~ <-- anymore? Soon I will have to start scrolling up to press on the talk button ;) Mineral4r7s (talk) 05:22, 23 January 2015 (CST)

Starting on 19 February I will be gone for 5 weeks. How are your computer repairs coming along?

Headbanging in general is not adviseable for the forseeable future ;). Well yeah hopefully you will have your stuff fixed when I am back but we will see. It happened. I watched an anime twice. Yuyushiki is my kind of humor.

well yeah. see you in 5 weeks.

Counter Attack of the Fluffy-Tailed Waifu Arc

Well, somehow or the other, shorten that title. It's too long.
