Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance[edit]

Hi, it's nice to see people interested in working on the series. Do refer to the terminology page for English words that have be standardized for their respective Japanese words. Of course, if you have a better suggestion of which word should represent the Japanese term, you can suggest it at the talk page. I'm pretty passive about terminology, so you shouldn't face much resistance in that area. Generally, my style is quite literally and I try to keep the clauses and, if possible, the order in which information is presented. However, for now due to my lack of time, I'll just do translation checks till I get better at managing my limited time.

What did you translate 呪装刻印 as? I'll like your opinion on this. --KuroiHikari (Talk | ) 03:50, 29 September 2012 (CDT)

刻印 is engraving in a sense but we've been using "seal" for that since the beginning. Generally, what english terms to be used for terms in the book have been decided here: Terminology, of course you can contest the decisions made here. Currently, florza updates the terms now, since I'm too busy to do that. I rollbacked your changes made to the page because it wasn't terminology-related. It's generally "Japanese text = English text".

Btw, there's this pen icon that you can click to sign your posts

About the translation, I don't think I've reached your part yet, currently I believe that the Chinese source (which was used for translation at the front part) isn't that precise. --KuroiHikari (Talk | ) 07:22, 29 September 2012 (CDT)

Hmm, are you translating from Chinese or Japanese? There isn't "artificial" in 呪装刻印. For the first part, it's fine, I'll look through them, since I am planning to do that. However, my tlc pace is currently still slow, cuz I'm not really in the mood to do so, hopefully, it'll improve next week. --KuroiHikari (Talk | ) 08:25, 29 September 2012 (CDT)

For terms you're unsure of, you can ask about it on a talk page. I don't believe KuroiHikari has read past V3 yet, so I guess you can ask me instead. I should have covered most of it, except for a few like Stone Circle. Try to also translate the text in past tense and from a third person narrative, because Blade Dance is written that way. First person thoughts are specifically written with brackets. Florza (talk) 08:59, 29 September 2012 (CDT)

Yo. For terms and names here's something that will help. Each and Every Project page has a link to the corresponding Names and Terminology page. You'll find most of your answers there even before you figure out the questions. Zero2001 - Talk - 09:57, 29 September 2012 (CDT)

I'm a senior editor. Keep an eye on my edits and you'll learn a lot. I look forward to working with you. Zero2001 - Talk - 03:15, 30 September 2012 (CDT)

I sent you an email a while ago, but I guess it's better to post here as well since I don't know much about B-T's system. I posted my translation for the first 3 pages of vol 4 chapter 1 since I didn't know whether you were working on the chapter or another one. I hope it's okay if we translate it together. Delacroix01 - Talk

Thank your for translating the series :) I'm looking forward to your updates. Thanks again! :)

Hi, again. I'm not too sure what the Chinese trans use for the < > brackets. But basically, «» is used for them here. I've heard they used 「」, could you make those that "highlight" words/terms/nouns as «» from on now. Thanks --KuroiHikari (Talk | ) 08:22, 2 November 2012 (CDT)

I took a quick glimpse at chp 9 a while ago, and saw that. It was resolved in this edit: http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=Seirei_Tsukai_no_Blade_Dance:Volume3_Chapter9&diff=201631&oldid=201611 --KuroiHikari (Talk | ) 18:32, 3 November 2012 (CDT)

I'll need a response (or better a completion percentage) to affirm if you're still working on the chapters you've registered. If not, I'll have to remove your names off the list. Tentatively, I'll do it on the 23th Feb. --KuroiHikari (Talk | ) 20:53, 8 February 2013 (CST)

Audio Novel Project[edit]

First of all thanks for Translating Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance.

Second of all I am apart of the Audio Novel Projects The result of discussions between myself and some other enthusiasts in the forums, and what we aim to do is create audiobooks of translation scripts done by contributors. However, due to recent discussion, we've come to the conclusion that it is best to ask permission from the translators themselves, if their scripts can be used as Audio Novel bases, because of the section in the Translation Common Agreement that states that all translations belong to their respective translators.

Therefore, as respectfully as possible, I'd like to request permission to use your translation of Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance as a script as such.
