Accel World (アクセル・ワールド, Akuseru Wārudo) es una serie de Novelas Ligeras escritas por Reki Kawahara, con ilustraciones de HIMA.

Ganó el Gran Premio de Novelas Dengeki en 2008, lo que la llevó a ser publicada por Dengeki Bunko en 2009, junto a la novela web del autor, Sword Art Online.

Argumento

Es el año 2046, Haruyuki es un chico gordo que ya lleva medio año en escuela media. Tiene los típicos problemas de un niño gordo, tales como baja autoestima y ser víctima de abusos por parte de sus compañeros. Su único escape es el mundo virtual, donde la velocidad de reacción de su cerebro no se encuentra limitada por su cuerpo como en el mundo real. Allí, siempre juega squash virtual en la red de su escuela, donde su absurdamente alto puntaje es tomado en cuenta por la alumna más bella de la escuela: Kuroyukihime. Ella quiere recrutarlo y llevarlo a un mundo especial, donde la velocidad y habilidades de pelea determinan si tienes la capacidad para seguir "acelerando" o no.
