KLSymph

I'm KLSymph, an active member of Baka-Tsuki since 2014 and an Executive Council member for 2016. My position has not much changed since then: I still manage, translate, and edit for Rakudai Kishi no Eiyuutan, and also translate/QC for Rakudai Kishi's manga adaptation as well as those of Madan no Ou to Vanadis and Sekai no Owari no Encore. I believe in the importance of detailed analysis based on structured principles, both in storytelling and in forum management, and my many years of experience in those two fields outside of Baka-Tsuki has made me either extremely effective or utterly insufferable, depending on who you ask. As a member of the Executive Council, I would act as a voice for consistently high story quality above all else. I would like Baka-Tsuki projects to aspire toward producing polished reading experiences for their intended audiences, and I would like for Baka-Tsuki to set the gold standard in light novel translations. The only appreciable difference I've undergone in the last year is that I've learned more Japanese, so I am even more likely to demand and support better translation efforts from others.

Update: Madan no Ou to Vanadis manga translation has been completed. --KLSymph (talk) 16:56, 14 June 2017 (CEST)

Lunar Vitae

Hey there, I go by Lunar Vitae, and I've been a member of Baka-Tsuki for one year, primarily editing Maria-sama ga Miteru and a couple of small bits here and there. Recently, I have found myself assisting in the day to day moderation of the community, and have a desire to contribute more.

I am someone who prefers to follow the rules or guidelines as closely as possible. I believe this is why and how our community has grown to be what it is today, and are fairly instrumental to our continuing hosting projects in the structured, open, and welcoming environment I have come to know.

Additionally, I am a proponent of good communication. In particular, if there is concern or a disagreement with . . . well, anything really, it would be my pleasure to help resolve or otherwise arbitrate. This includes issues regarding the above. If there is legitimate concern or questions about a rule or policy, I would be happy to have a discussion on the subject. If a good argument is made for, or against, something, I have no problems seriously considering the proposed change (or other situationally appropriate action).

Lastly, I am someone who enjoys helping others in general. This feeling is what motivates me to contribute to Baka-Tsuki. If even a handful of people can benefit from my efforts, it makes it all worth it.

I don't have as much time to translate nowadays as I used to, but I hope my viewpoint continues to hold some value as a translator perspective. In any case, I'm just going to link to my previous blurb, which remains an accurate representation of my position on various issues.

I've been here a while. If you have any questions for me, head over to BT's discord.

Jay

I've generally stayed to myself in my short time as a member -> editor here. Currently working on editing Ping's ImoIre (Siscon novelist) novel translations. I've been rather disaffiliated with the community, though I've often admired it and wanted to involve myself in it. I only now have made a forums account, if that shows how much of a recluse I am. I go by Jay on Discord, and that is my home. Anyway, in terms of experience... I have had extensive experience in Forum Administration; ranging from basic moderation duties to creation of forums. I've also had much experience in business management and administration, in regards to the teamwork and leadership skills I will most definitely need to know if I am to take up this post that is being applied for. Finally, on the topic of legal disputes: I have written legally binding documents for clients in the past as well as written official responses to inquiries and problems for quite a few clients.

Enough about my experience; I should really talk about who I am as a person. Am I the sort of guy you want on your executive council? Well, it goes without saying that I am your average joe when it comes to personality. I can be lightly humorous at times, serious when needed, and generally keep a mature demeanor. Of course I love to have fun, but there is always a balance between working and fun ~ whether it be in daily life or on Baka-Tsuki.

Daily Life... this brings me to my next topic, activity. As you can see from above, I'm not exactly the most active user on Discord, and I'm working on just one project right now. And I only just made a forums account - which doesn't have access to the admin forum! This doesn't mean I won't be active though, as well have been working on my editing and will be trying to get working on other projects throughout the summer, increasing my activity.

In conclusion: Though I am rather reclusive and quiet, I have the ability to take action when given the chance. I hope I am considered in the voting for this year.

RS

Hello there. I haven't been on the wiki for that long (less than 2 years) and I like helping out on projects here and there. Though I joined way back on the forums when the Haruhi craze days were on (2006! so long ago!) and kinda lurked there since then.

As for policies, I'm for following TL, DMCA or publisher requests for takedowns, also for removing hosted series when they get licensed in their language... so, the standard BT policy. Truthfully, instead of being front and center, I'll prefer to be the fifth guy that breaks a 2-2 vote stalemate if needed.
