Yume Nikki[edit]

Hi, I haven't checked the wiki for years. Sorry for not replying and thank you very much for your contribution for the translations of Yume Nikki. Pudding321

Thank you for replying! I think I can finish the translation this July. --Amanitashreds

Hi! o/ Talk about being out of the loop, I just saw your message because I got the emails about them deleting the Yume Nikki novel :/ Thank you for finishing the project. I've been very busy with life, and couldn't work on it as I would like to. It's a shame they took it down so soon after you finished too.

I'm trying to figure out exactly what happened, since I can't really see any news regarding licensing, so we'll see. --DreamlessWindow (talk) 11:13, 1 November 2017 (CET)

  • Replying to DreamlessWindow, it was licensed by J-Novel Club. For licenses that are simply announced, there's often a window of time before it gets deleted; but in this case, J-Novel has already started releasing their translation, so it had to come down immediately according to the BT policy. Amanitashreds now joins the illustrious(?) group of translators who have had their work licensed shortly after finishing it, though is still behind Teh Ping in terms of "luck" in that regard. --Cthaeh (talk) 15:41, 1 November 2017 (CET)
  • Yup, just saw that. I just read the preview they have in their page. I'm not sure how to feel about it. While the translation doesn't look so bad (although there were a few things I didn't like), being onlyu digital, and not having an option to purchase it until the translation is finished (only monthly subscription available if you want to keep reading as they keep releasing parts) are really discouraging things for me. And of course, the fact that everything was deleted without warning is leaving a bad aftertaste, even if it was what was needed to be done. --DreamlessWindow (talk) 16:45, 1 November 2017 (CET)
