Standard format for thought-speech[edit]

There are now two different formats used for thought-speech, italics and parentheses. I personally prefer italics, and that is what Florza originally used. But I think either is fine as long as it is consistent. Unless there is a strong contrary opinion, I propose using italics as the standard and I can make the changes. --Cthaeh (talk) 22:39, 10 November 2012 (CST)

Currently they follow the formats in the original until I decide what to do with them, after the completion of Volume 1. Florza (talk) 00:53, 11 November 2012 (CST)

OK. Recent edits by Kira replaced some, but not all, of the original italics with parentheses. But going back through to impose a uniform format can wait until the final decision as you said. --Cthaeh (talk) 02:35, 11 November 2012 (CST)

Why would it be necessary to impose a uniform format if the author chose to express thoughts in a variety of forms in the original text? It's not like Kira converted italicized thoughts into parenthetical forms arbitrarily. --Zzhk (talk) 03:39, 11 November 2012 (CST)

I guess what I really meant to say is that, given Florza's comment, I'm not going to do anything. I'm just an editor without any access to the original, so the change of some italics to parentheses did in fact appear arbitrary to me; that's why I posted (asked) here. Now there's an answer to leave things be, so that's what I'll do. --Cthaeh (talk) 04:01, 11 November 2012 (CST)

Poor Kira, no one recognizes his "seniority." --Zzhk (talk) 19:38, 11 November 2012 (CST)

Because he's the 'Kirawarerumono'. Florza (talk) 19:56, 11 November 2012 (CST)

'Kirawarerumono'. The one being Kira'd. Kira (Talk) 20:14, 11 November 2012 (CST)

I apologize if my posts have come across as disrespectful, it was not my intention. As someone new, I'm not yet familiar with various aspects of baka-tsuki, including the capabilities of regular users. Perhaps my choice of words did not properly reflect my uncertainty and portray the proper respect. I only started editing to try to reflect my gratitude towards translators and editors, so I have failed if I have come across as disrespectful. Thank you for your extensive contribution history. --Cthaeh (talk) 21:33, 11 November 2012 (CST)

Nah, no harm done. We're just messing with Kira because he's so open to good-natured fun. I was just making an oblique reference to a certain person who likes to flaunt his self-proclaimed status of "senior editor." By asking before changing anything, you did the right thing (unlike some people). Though if you had looked at the history beyond the Zero-edit, you would have seen that florza originally used brackets.--Zzhk (talk) 23:07, 11 November 2012 (CST)
