You can start editing, there's really no need to ask for permission to correct the mistakes in the script, if you want to be recognised as Sword Art Online's official editor then please feel free to add your name in the main project page under editor section. Everyone would appreciate that you want to help improving the quality of the script, but please make sure to make a discussion in either the chapter's talk page or in the forums in case that your edits are going to change the meaning of the text. I'm looking forward to see your contributions to the project I love. -- BeginnerXP - Talk 13:55, 19 June 2012 (CDT)

Sword Art Online[edit]

I looked at your edits on SAO9 Interlude I and most are fine, but there are a few points I want to discuss with you:

  • "which compelled Asuna to withdraw from the guild" - Is using 'compel' necessary here? In my opinion it makes the text slightly harder to understand to those non-native English speakers (like myself). Large portion of readers here aren't using English as their native language so I prefer to keep the script easy to understand as much as possible.
  • You changed some instances of 'temperature' to 'warmth' - While it looks fine to me and I'm not against this change, but the original JP text used the word 'temperature' which contains meaning of both hotness and coldness instead of going straight with hotness word.
  • You changed light quantum (accepted physics term) to quantum light (company name) - Could you verify this?
  • Asuna's eyes softened, and she let out a light laugh - Doesn't this completely change how the scene is described? Softened and widened eyes gave completely different feeling to the readers and it was rounded her eyes in the original JP script, which was then changed to widened as it felt more appropriate.
  • "S......Sorry that I laughed. But...... could it be, that was what made Kirito-kun anxious until now?" - This part I used 'suffer' which you replaced to 'anxious' but after looking at the JP script again, it should be troubled or worried instead of suffer/anxious, what do you think?

I hope I didn't offend you with this message, I want to see the script gets better as much as you do. And I will only make a comment if the edits were on the scripts I translated, as I won't poke my hand into the works of other translators. -- BeginnerXP - Talk 01:24, 20 June 2012 (CDT)

Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo[edit]

First off, great thanks for taking your time to edit my yet-to-be-confirmed translations. Your edits are liberable in a sense that affects the meaning (seriously). I think BeginnerXP had already explained to you so I'll go directly into the problems.

  • the only response he could give was... - I think using the collocation "give a response" is redundant as you can give the same meaning with the verb 'respond'. "Sorata could only respond to these hungry mouths with the growling sounds of his tummy."
  • the muscles in my leg? - I've never heard of that in my Biology lesson. =p Leg muscles...yep. Moreover, "Every time" is redundant when there is "always".
  • live collectively - It's not wrong but it doesn't feel right. You'd normally say "We live together." rather than "We live collectively."
  • crucial point - doesn't explain a two-way road (dilemma); I'm preferring division point.
  • find someone who will adopt it - same as "find someone to adopt it" to me; The latter has less words and hence better.
  • he was still trying to recruit people who were willing to take the cats off his hands. - Well, this is a clear explanation. However, 'feeder' is actually a word that connects the story. And the focus isn't how he doesn't want the cats. It's his worry of no one to feed the cats once he doesn't feed them anymore.

I would be glad to see your editing in the project. However, as I'm constricted by loads of school work, the project might be halted to a stop. -- Pudding321 - Talk 05:58, 27 October 2012 (CDT)

Can I get the raws for Volume 1? I'm a new editor and would still like to see the original text to get a feel for how the writing should go. Khiral (talk) 11:33, 28 December 2012 (CST)

Thanks for the above. I eventually googled my way to the raws, so I will just download them on my own if I need them. Khiral (talk) 14:06, 28 December 2012 (CST)

I've answered to your request in my Talk page, just in case you haven't seen it. -Misogi (Talk) 13:40, 2 May 2013 (GMT+1)

Thanks (Sakurasou no Petto na Kanojo)[edit]

Ah hi there Jasou. Thanks for helping me edit Sakurasou. Really thankful. However, I do hope that you keep to the original meaning of the book. Thx.

something like, er... --On the front side of the fridge was the duty-rooster. Many colorful magnets surrounded it, and on it was a line of words that he could not ignore. This sentence is trying to say something like the line of words on the duty-roster (Sry I spelled that wrongly), but you've edited it into

On the front side of the fridge was the duty-roster. Many colorful magnets adorned it, and on a certain red one was a line of words that he could not ignore.

which meant the the red line of words on the "Colorful Magnets". And btw, according to the Script I have (the chinese one), it didn't say a "Red line of words", so I think it's btr to keep to the original, or at least, the official version.

Lastly, thank you for improving my English (I know I suck at that) by a ton. Thank you. :)

P.S. Maybe you can just add your name on the editor's section and edit more? XD But I think you need to ask pudding first. XP

Thank you for your edits on Sakurasou. I've got no complaints and you're doing a great job at it. I hope my translations are somewhat easy to understand.

No problem! And yes, I feel that all the translations for this project were pretty well done. You're certainly doing a great job...if only I can edit as fast as your translations, which I (as well as Magykalman) think are at godly speeds. :) -Jasou (talk) 18:50, 14 December 2012 (CST)

I'm only (for now at least :P) a leecher, but thanks a lot for putting the illustrations of the novels in the wiki! I'm already drooling just by watching those images XD Jonythunder (talk) 21:36, 30 December 2012 (CST)

No problem! Since I've been too lazy to edit, I felt that I should at least do something to contribute. Thanks for showing your appreciation! - Jasou (talk) 21:43, 30 December 2012 (CST)
