3			クリスマスイブを過ぎたクリスマスの日は、 基本的には、ただの冬の一日に過ぎなかった。	Christmas was nothing more than an ordinary winter day after Christmas Eve had passed.
4			明け方にやんでしまった雪は、 道行く人にただ寒さと歩きにくさを与えるだけで、 昼を過ぎた頃にはすっかり黒く土に溶け込んでいた。	The snow had stopped piling up by the time dawn arrived, and only served to deliver the chill of winter and hinder the steps of passersby. By noon, it had completely dissolved into a blackened soil that merged into the ground.
5			…そんな皮肉めいた見方しかできないのは、 自分の精神状態のせいという可能性も 否定できなかったけど。	...As sarcastic as it is of me to put it this way, I can’t deny the possibility that my current mental state has something to do with it.

7			結局、予想通りあれから一睡もできなかった。	In the end, as I had anticipated, I haven’t been able to sleep since then.
8			窓の外の黒い空が白く薄曇っていくのを リアルタイムで全て視界に収め 明けない夜が本当にないということを痛感した。	I'd spent the whole night engraving the period of the dark sky gradually brightening outside the window into my mind. I then came to the clear realization that nights are not eternal.
9			疲れと眠気に苛まれているはずの頭は、 それでもただ一人の記憶を追い出すことができなくて、 割れんばかりの痛みばかりを俺にもたらした。	While I’d hoped for fatigue and sleepiness to cloud my mind, they failed to expel the memories of a certain someone out of it, only serving to give me a splitting headache.
10			あのまま部屋に一人で居続けたら、 頭がどうにかなってしまいそうだった。 だから、這うように部屋を飛び出した。	I felt like I would've gone crazy if I remained alone in my room any longer, so I decided to force myself outside.
11			それから数時間…	It’s been a few hours since then...
12			厚い雲に覆われた空は、 そのまままたリアルタイムで黒く染まっていき、 暮れない昼が本当にないということまで思い出させた。	Watching the entire cloudy day darkening in real time also made me remember that daylight doesn’t last forever either.
13			そんなふうに夜まで、あてもなくずっと歩き続けて、 最後に俺が辿り着いたのがここだった。	I simply kept walking aimlessly until nighttime. Where I ended up finally stopping was here.
14			グッディーズ南末次店。	Goodies, Minamisuetsugu branch.
15			外から、忙しそうに働く仲間たちを、 さっきからぼうっと眺めてた。	I’ve been outside watching my busy co-workers inside the shop the whole time.
16			峰城学園が大学、付属とも冬休みに入ったせいか、 いつもより客足は微妙に減っていたけれど、 その分バイトもきっちり減っていた。	The number of customers is slightly lower than usual, though — likely because both Houjou Academy's university and high school are on winter break, and the number of employees on shift is accordingly lower, as well.
17			キッチンもホールも、誰一人手を休めている人はいない。 佐藤も、中川さんも、他の数少ないスタッフも。	I don’t see anyone resting in either the kitchen nor the hall — not Satou, Nakagawa-san, or any of the remaining staff.
18			だから、ここなら… 今の俺を、置いとかせてくれるかもしれない。	That’s why… this should be an accommodating venue for my current state of mind.
19			唐突に訪れた俺のことを奇異に思わず、 ただ『地獄に仏』とばかりに、早く制服に着替えるよう、 更衣室を指差してくれるかもしれない。	My abrupt visit might instinctively strike them as strange, but they’d probably direct me to the changing room and put me into uniform under the impression that I’m here to help on a rainy day.
20			忙しさに、かまけることができるかもしれない。	Perhaps I can wholeheartedly distract myself with work like this.
21			…なんて、さっきから、 ずっとその光景を頭に思い浮かべているのに、 俺の足は、どうしても入口へと向かっていかない。	...Or so I thought. In spite of picturing such a scenario, my feet are unwilling to move an inch towards the entrance.
22			だってあの場所には…彼女がいる。	Because inside… she of all people is present.
23			俺が、今日ここに来れないように細工した彼女が。 俺を、励ましとともに送り出してくれた彼女が。	The girl who had endeavored for me so I didn’t need to come over today. The girl who had encouraged me and pushed me forward.
24			今は会いたくない。 合わせる顔がない。	I can’t see her right now. I don’t have the face to see her.
25			だって俺は、 彼女の計略にうまく引っかかることができなかった。	After all, I couldn’t follow her plan to the letter.

64			そこの窓際の席からなら、 お互いの姿を視認できるくらい 近くて、そして明るいから。	It’d be convenient, given that we can keep an eye on each other due to the stone’s throw distance and ample lighting.
65	小春	Koharu	「わたし、今日早番だから、もうすぐ終わるんです。 そしたらすぐそっちに行きますから」	"My shift ends early today, so I’ll be done soon. I’ll come see you immediately after."

71			俺の言葉なんか聞く耳を持たないとばかりに、 杉浦は勝手に約束を取りつけると、 慌てて店の中に戻っていった。	Without even wanting to hear what I had to say, she made that promise on her own and went back to work.

76			お節介で、余計なところにまで気がついて、 ただの知り合いにまで気を使いすぎる、 『面倒見のいい後輩』という、矛盾した女の子…	She's a contradiction of a girl —"a helpful junior", so to speak, who’s meddlesome, perceptive of things that don’t concern her, and is willing to go the extra mile for someone like me, someone who’s no more than an acquaintance to her.

81			杉浦の誘いに乗り、一緒の時間を過ごせば、 今抱えてる傷が、少しは癒されるかもしれない。	Had I accepted Sugiura’s invitation and we spent some time together, perhaps my suffering would have eased up, even if only a little.

87			溶けた雪が絡みつき、 どんどん重くなる足を引きずって、 やっと、グッディーズの呪縛から逃げ延びる。	As I limp along, my steps gradually get heavier steps, my feet entangled by the melted snow, I finally manage to escape the curse of the Goodies restaurant.

94			なんでここまでして逃げなくちゃならないんだ？ なんでこの程度のことで罪の意識に 苛まれなくちゃならない？	Why did I run to this place? Why must I be tormented by this feeling of guilt from something as minor as this?
95			なんで自分の意志で距離を置いたのに、 こんなにもあの場所へ戻りたがる自分がいるんだ？	Given that I was the one who put the distance between us, why do I suddenly desire to return to that place again?
