4			早朝からずっと曜子さんの携帯は繋がらず、 工藤さんや浜田さんにまで何度も問い合わせて、 あの親子の行方を捜し求めた。	I couldn’t reach Youko-san’s phone throughout the morning, so I had to go ask Kudou-san and even Hamada-san to find out her whereabouts.

8			そこは、一週間前に会った病室。	It was the same hospital room she was in a week ago.
9			午前中に連絡したときはいないって話だったのに、 その後で救急病院から転院してきたんだとか。	They told me she wasn’t there when I asked in the morning. She must’ve been transferred there from an emergency hospital at a later time.
10			つまり、俺たちの状況はふりだしに戻った。 …いや、実質的には後退してた。	In other words, we were back to square one… No, we were actually in an even worse situation.

132			夜間通用口から外に出たとき、 すでに日はとっぷりと暮れ、 真冬の冷たい風が容赦なく顔を打ちつけた。	The sun had already set when I left through the after-hours entrance. Now, the cold winter wind blows against my face without mercy.
