Volume 1 Cover

Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance (精霊使いの剣舞 / Bladedance of Elementaler) is a light novel series written by Shimizu Yuu and initially illustrated by Sakura Hanpen. Due to poor health, Sakura Hanpen could no longer continue illustrating the series and Nimura Yuuji, the illustrator of Leviathan of the Covenant, took over starting Volume 14 (Source, Eng article).

Published by MF Bunko J, the series currently has 15 volumes released.

Produced by TNK, a 12-episode anime adaptation aired during the 2014 summer anime season, covering events from Volume 1 to Volume 3.

Story Synopsis

Only a pure maiden can have the privilege to contract with a spirit. At Areishia Spirit Academy, trained maidens of noble families are gathered and given an elite's education to become elementalists. The protagonist, Kamito, accidentally peeped on a bathing girl, Claire, and ended up making a contract with the spirit she wanted. Indeed, as a male elementalist, Kamito is an irregularity whose existence was hitherto thought impossible. "You stole...my spirit...you have to take responsibility for it!" "Huh?" "You have to become my contracted spirit!" Where will Kamito's destiny lead to? (From FairGame)
