Prologue

Beneath the hard, solid rock lay several layers of excavated, overlapping passageways.

A certain young boy was walking towards the Institution inside which crimson flames were raging.

His glossy hair was pitch-black, and it almost looked as if he wanted to become one with the dark night, as he was wearing black clothes from head to toe.

There was a sense of child-like innocence lingering in his girly facial features and yet his black pupils were showing no sense of emotion whatsoever. He was simply staring blankly at the blaze reflecting the flickering light.

Many combat skilled workers were possessed by the «Instructional School» institution, whether it was one that was annihilated in merely half of that day — There's no way that the young boy would know.

Was it something that was done by a Sylphid Knights' division that belongs to the Empire, or was it that they lost control of the Sealed Spirits?

The young boy who was trained in combat skills by the instructional teacher, was nowhere to be found.

He escaped, or, perhaps was already dead.

If they assume that, the young boy was unleashed and that he would become a free man.

But...

It's good no matter how, after such a thing...

Deprived of a child's mind, who had become indifferent to everything.

There was only one exception, none other than her.

The Dark Spirit Restia — the Institution's instructional teacher had given it to him, their highest ranked sealed spirit.

His heart, which was engulfed in darkness, was shown light by this girl alone.

She's the only one I'll protect unconditionally

In the burning flame interior, the boy's goal was the shrine in the institution's basement.

In the shrine of the «Instructional School», were many artifacts that were illegally excavated — Sealed spirits that could rival even a small nation's military strength were all resting there.

Restia was also sealed in a ring, and would thus have been stored there.

In the boy's hand, was the spirit carved seal which was the proof of his spirit contract.

The teachers of the «Instructional school», were afraid of his skills and powers, thus not allowing him to reach the spirit.

A male with the power to contract a spirit—was someone with the potential to become the Demon King.

It was what the instructors were afraid of the most- him rebelling along with the highest Dark Spirit.

"Say, Onii-sama!"

The sound of a girl came from behind. There was only one person who would call him onii-sama.

"Mira?"

The youth turned around, and saw the young girl behind him. With coal-black hair, piercing green eyes and rose-like lips. The flesh which wasn't concealed by her dark battle gear, appeared to be snow white.

"Mira, you still haven't escaped?"

"Because I still needed to find onii-sama!"

Mira (last name) replied with a red face.

No matter what, the youth was an orphan without a sister.

"Onii-sama" was a name she called him with.

"What happened to the comrades that were watching?"

"Eliminated."

She answered with a flicker of her eyebrow.

"Because they would cause problems while I'm searching for onii-sama."

A proud murderer without remorse.

"So it's like this..."

If it is necessary for the job then kill-something like that was unheard of.

No, there was little guilt for the murdered comrades.

A girl taught to become a weapon; in a way, he was the same.

Mira (last name) was the «Instructional School»'s second most powerful warrior. In a place full of monsters, she was called a «monster».

With overwhelming fighting power, for someone who has yet to kill anyone, there was a red gulf between them.

"Onii-sama, what are you doing here?"

Mira asked the question.

"There is an altar under here, where Restia's seal lies. I need to get it."

"But Onii-sama already has Mira, you don't need that contracted spirit"

Mira frowned with her cute lips.

"In that case, where is Lily?"

Lily Flame, the seventh member of Mira's group.

"Lily...um...hmm, she might be dead already, by that Crimson Lotus Giant."

"Crimson Lotus Giant?"

"The one who attacked the facility several weeks ago, what an incredible Lava spirit"

In that instant.

Suddenly, the ground began to shake.

"It is coming onii-sama!"

".....!?"

—Suddenly, from the depths of the tunnel, came an incredible killing aura. Crimson flames clinging to the ground came in an instant. From the depths of the fire came a roaring Giant. Holding a Flaming sword with his molten hands.

"Fire spirit?, no, it is..."

It was not a simple Fire Spirit.

The youth's entire body chilled from shock.

It was a symbol of destruction. Its very sight reap the mind.

That's.... a demon-king-level-spirit

Even the «Instructional School» full of powerful spirits could be destroyed by this.

The power of a Demon King level spirit, can defeat an entire regiment of Spirit Knights.

There is no way anyone can fight a spirit like this.

The fire spirit noticed them.

With flames coiling all over its body, the monster slowly approached.

Mira licked the ring on her finger.

It looked like she was planning to use her military level spirit against it.

"Mira, that is not something a human can beat."

"No problem. Mira is not a human, Mira is a monster."

Mira's right hand glowed with her Mark of Contract.

No, it was not a Spirit Seal, but a Cursed Armament Seal.

«JESTER VISE»— The reason why Mira was called a monster.

"Goodbye, Onii-sama."

"—MIRA!!!"

In that moment, the young boy reached his hands towards her.

The giant released crimson lotus flames, and his world turned into fire.

The frenzy spirit resulted in the complete destruction of the «Instructional school»

It was the year before the appearance of the strongest Blade dancer.

In a place not even recorded on a map, on the border of the Empire.
